Oasis Cairns Road 4 - Grace Church 1

Oasis better team and deserved to win. 1-1 at half time, bit disappointed at some of the goals we gave away, massive struggle against the wind and OCR scored direct from a corner (as they have against us there before!). Game was played in a really good spirit, really pleased with that, Well done OCR.

Club Corinthians 2-1 'Slip

So we have finally lost. We dominated first half, and scored through a flashing Spring volley. I was guilty of missing a golden chance. Great ball by Wilko saw me control the ball completely free on penalty spot. Goalie was on edge of 6yd box and I placed it wide. Could hardly see any space past him, he was rather round!

We didn't really have any other clear cut chances all game. Mostly shot off target. Nothing created at all second half.

They were a bunch of thugs, we only received one punch! We should have beat them, they were not good.

Hope the other church teams won.
Congratulations to Woodies.

Glenside 1 woodies 6 in the gfa minor. Decent performance from us without quite hitting last weeks high. Some decent goals in the mix as well and goalscorer's were ieu, Ben Mitch and Andy with two each. Big game against bsxi next week to look forward to and thankfully no new injuries.

Bad day for Hillfields.

Reserves 2 v suburbs 5 - went 1-0 up and score a bit flattering and they scored 2 late goals whilst we chased an equaliser bit gutted as would have move up to 3rd or 4th. Leon Cunningham both goals

Wick res 2 v firsts 1 - they were so beatable and we missed our chance to be in quarters went 1-0 up and looked in control but two pens later they we leading and it finished that way. We missed a pen. James Corfield with goal
Has seen 4 lads through his team become Christians in the last 18 months or so - How awesome is that?

Amana SYF 0-1 Castle Green

Good solid performance, all round team performance and a back line as solid as a rock...and we had to be.

Amana are a very young but talented group of players, all quick with an excellent touch, comfortable on the ball and they frequently had us on the back foot, however not once did they get beyond our back line. Today we were defensively immaculate.

Could easily have had 2 more at the other end, but 1 was enough, roll on the quarters!

Corinthians haven't improved then since last season. We received 3 punches to your 1 though. Makes you appreciate how superb the BCFA is. Very sorry to see you lost.

I'll echo your thoughts on spirit. Although your thee Nathan was disappointed with it, I said how great your attitude was. 2 goals from corners too!
Congratulations to Woodies.

Pips 3-2 Stoke Rangers (HT 0-1) played at Little Stoke (their home ground) as a slight mix up with Patchway (!).

Great win and good to get back to that winning feeling. Sorry to hear Slip and Hillfields are out. They were a good bunch of lads although there were 7 bookings in all (2 for us and 1 for the rest for them - mainly for dissent), not a nasty match. Stoke Rangers were a decent outfit with two quick strikers and a tricky winger. Ken came alive 2nd half anf punished them for tiring out!

Goals from Kendo (2) and Ali Mac from almost the corner flag!

Quarters here we come!

Next week: Slip, league leaders......

Bath Corinthians 3 - 2 BUCU

This is a game we really feel we should have got something from. Bath Corinthians however played very well and out muscled us at times, performing much better than their current league position alludes to.

We really missed a couple of our key players at the back and in the end it told with us giving away some pretty sloppy goals. Well done to Alex who scored our 2 which now takes him to 8 from the last 7 games.

We hope the Corinthians player who had to go off with what looked like a nasty ankle sprain is ok.

Patchway North End 4 - 2 SAS

Extremely frustrating game yesterday. We were 3-0 down at half time which was always going to be difficult to come back from but 2 of the 3 goals were absolute gifts from us. They probably shaded fhe first half in ferms of posession and chances but only just.

We scored 2 goals within about 10 minutes of the restart and were totally dominating the game. At 3-2 they were there for the taking but we just couldn't finish the job. When they got their fourth on the break with about 10 to go that took the wind out of our sails but we certainly gave it a good go yesterday.

0 punches...though you'd sense there might have been if they hadn't been winning :-)

Completely agree. I reffed OCR v Grace and got absolutely no stick whatsoever. Compare that to other games I referee Blink

I do enjoy the challenge of trying to control a football match.
Congratulations to Woodies.

Quick question, where was the game played? it was not listed for Bath Uni when I checked which pitch my game was being played on, and I did not see any of the teams there so thought it may have been off.

It was at the Sulis Club. I'm afraid I don't know any of the details of the referee booking for the match as we were the away team. It was only organised last minute on Thursday/Friday as both teams had our opposition pull out on us. Sorry if there was any confusion.

No confusion, I was just puzzled, I was doing the Widcombe Wanderers game at Bath Uni and knew Corinthians were playing BUCU and expected it to be at the Uni where Corinthians normally play, hence my puzzlement when I did not see them.

The Minor Cup looks a tough cup this year. Bishopsworth United look strong as they beat Christchurch 3-0 in the previous round and we know Real Thornbury are a good side. They beat AEK Boco in the latest round which is good as they looked a tidy side. I don't think I am hearing from the BCFA side that lost in this round that they are teams that we should fear. Hoping for a good quarter final draw !!
