Surely some fireworks to be seen in the BCFA this weekend. Div 1 Christchurch v Widcombe - tough one to predict given Widcombe's lack of games and CC's up and down form. I'll go with a draw. Hillfields v Kensington - big game for these two teams as a potential 6 pointer. I'll go with an away win, I've heard good things about Kensington SAS v Slip - game of the day in Div 1. Historically Slip have struggled a bit against SAS and may also struggle with the tag of champions elect . But which SAS will turn up, the goal shy side we faced or the one that smashed 19 goals in against Hartcliffe (by the way, was thinking about this, that is a goal almost every 4 mins. Bearing in mind when you score a goal it takes about a minute to restart the game etc and surely they can't have scored with every shot they had, this must have been a very bizarre game to watch with SAS almost robbing Hartcliffe of the ball from kick off and going on to score each time!). Anyway I digress, I am going with an SAS win. TBC v Woodies - always good games between us. I'm not around to manage the troops this weekend so Matt Hyde takes over as player/coach (no Peachy or Andy B either) so he will be keen to keep his 100% winning player/coach ratio going, will be a tough game though. GFA Good luck to Pips, I'm predicting a win for them Div 2 Castle Green v BUCU - game of the day in Div 2 with CG out to avenge their recent loss. Students settling in well will make this a tough one, I'm going with a draw. Gordano Valley Church Rovers Bristol Pistols - home win Nailsea v VCF Santos - closely run as game of the day. Davo will enjoy his annual trip to the brick and no doubt bag a couple. Going with an away win Powerhouse FC v Corinthians of Bath - home win Div 3 Carmel v Hayhill - away win Hartcliffe Saints v Hillfields Reserves - Hartcliffe back to winning ways Racing Santos v Oasis Cairns Road - away win Suburbs United v Grace Church - away win Enjoy all.

Ok, firstly, it's a goal every 4 mins 44 seconds, so closer to 5 mins [/pedantry], and surely, if you're scoring 19 times in a game you don't go through a minute of celebrations each time? Once you hit 6 or 7 and it's not even half time, surely you just score and then walk back to your half to start the game again? Only BCFA team to beat BSXI 4 times since 12th December 2009.....

Div 1 Christchurch v Widcombe - neither team seems to be going too well at present. I'll pick CC to gain a narrow win. Hillfields v Kensington - Hillfields have had some good results recently. Kensington have done ok since coming up, so I think this will be very even. Kens to nick it. SAS v Slip - probably our bogey team having been comfortably outlpayed by SAS on 2 or 3 occasions since they came up, although we did manage a 5-1 win in this fixture last season. I'm just hoping to keep SAS to under 10 goals after their last outing. TBC v Woodies - another game that is tough to call. TBC could really do with a win to get them going, Woodies have a bit more confidence after recent results, and I think their extra firepower up front might be the difference. GFA No idea who Pips are playing or how good they are, but good luck to them. Div 2 Castle Green v BUCU - CG to avenge their defeat with a narrow win, and finally get their season going. Gordano Valley Church Rovers v Bristol Pistols - um, draw? Nailsea v VCF Santos - this should be a good'un. Gonna pick Santos for a narrow win. Powerhouse FC v Corinthians of Bath - home win. Div 3 Carmel v Hayhill - away win Hartcliffe Saints v Hillfields Reserves - Hartcliffe to show their bouncebackability to win Racing Santos v Oasis Cairns Road - OCR's promotion push to continue. J Flynn hat-trick Suburbs United v Grace Church - away win Only BCFA team to beat BSXI 4 times since 12th December 2009.....

Once you hit 6 or 7 and it's not even half time, surely you just score and then walk back to your half to start the game again? It still takes the best part of a minute to restart celebrations apart. The keeper takes 5-10 seconds to blame every defender in front of him rather than look himself (or was that just us when we had TNS?), then another 5-10 seconds to recover the ball, another 10 seconds for the lazy centre forward to make his way back into his own half (or again is this just our experience with Davo?) etc etc. Still reckon it would take the best part of a minute to restart the game. I also remember hearing something about during a normal game of football the ball is actually in play only about 50-60% of the time, the rest of the time is is out for throw ins, corners etc. So on that basis they are scoring a goal once every 2-3 minutes which is very impressive !!

I'm with Nath on this one. No way does it take a minute to get it started again, maybe in the prem but not our league! Didn't even take that long when we scored v bsxi! So I doubt it did for sas v hartcliffe (no disrespect). I once watched Liverpool and stopped the watch everytime the ball went out of play. 55 mins. Congratulations to Woodies.

It does after you've scored by the time you've finished kicking the corner flag over and twirling your shirt above your head! I once watched Liverpool and stopped the watch everytime the ball went out of play. 55 mins. Sounds like an enjoyable 90 minutes! I'm sure watching Liverpool is bad enough much less doing that stopwatch thing!! On the subject of goals/min, we had 8 at HT, so we must've got 11 in 45mins = about one every 2-and-a-half minutes. And don't forget to factor in the time in took Nath to travel the length of the pitch, barge Luca out the way and take the spot kick off him! We also saved some time on the basis that Dorney decided he wasn't going to pass so just kept running it past thier defence and shooting. If he says otherwise he's lying :-)

I'll get in quick and point out maths obviously isn't my strong point. 11 in 45 = one every 4 mins!

Some explosive matches today to crown another Bonfire night in style SAS - Counterslip - score draw (maybe 2-2?) Thornbury - Woodies - a tight one, in our away game it could have gone either way 2nd half. Woodies are missing a few key players too, I reckon 1-1. Is Hillfields - Kensignton on or off? CC - Widcombe - I'm going for a CC win...just. Pips are playing St. Nicholas Wanderers 'A'. BSXI beat them In the Intermediate last season, they currently sit bottom of their league but take nothing for granted in football. As Greavsie once famously said - 'football's a funny old game'. Div 2 Castle Green - BUCU - draw Nailsea - VCF Santos - away win GVCR - Bristol Pistols - home win Powerhouse - Bath Corinthians - home win Div 3 Carmel - Hayhill - score draw Racing - OCR - away win Hartcliffe - Hillfields Res - draw Suburbs Utd - Grace - away win just http://pipnjayfc.ukffteams.co.uk/ Pip n jay GFA Minor cup winners 2010-11
