Scoreline flattered us a bit as Racing were dangerous going forward and had several good chances. Great bunch of guys to play against and thought the
game was played in a really good spirit.

Welton 0-1 bucu penalty for hand ball. Battled well.

In the absence of Phil thought I'd do the honours. Goals from Brian, Wes, Ken and 2 from Sol after coming on with 15 to go.

We faced a much more resilient and well organised Welton side today than we did 2 weeks ago. They looked to have taken confidence from their win last week and were energetic throughout playing some nice stuff in the middle of the park. We created a lot of half chances, whipping a lot of balls into their box and I think Welton's keeper had a really solid game. In the end a fortuitous penalty decided the match and if the keeper had stayed where he was instead of diving then Jeremy Young's scuffed shot would have been an easy save. In the end I think the right result but Welton are odds on to avoid relegation if they continue to play in the manner of todays performance.

Tough game and could have gone to extra time in dying seconds. Relieved to be in the hat and the boys battled well

Great win battled well rode are luck a bit or made our own with great keeping and defensive clearances. We kept going stayed strong and scored 2 goals in final 20 through Rue and Leon.

Well chuffed with win and first time in third round. Not sure if our landlords we're very happy if one team they don't wanna lose to its us.
Has seen 4 lads through his team become Christians in the last 18 months or so - How awesome is that?

Did enough without being great. To be fair to Sneyd they were competitive and never gave up even though there were times where it looked pretty one sided. Dave P scored all 3 of our goals and obvious to say he had a very good match. Great to get through and back to business in the league next week with a very importnat game against Nailsea who seem to be gathering momentum.

We took the lead early through a penalty after Spring was brought down. I did the honours. They equalised with a penalty after Powelly pushed a guy over at a corner. 1-1 ht

We didn't crumble second half and got a further 2 goals from myself and the other Dan. Turps hobbled off with a hamstring injury :-(

Good win, not a nice team to play against.
Congratulations to Woodies.

funny old game today. We were by no means at our best and with Pat in goal and Brad, Ash and Stouty all nursing injuries we saw the return of Mr Forshaw. We began well enough and scored from a corner after Daz poked in. Then a free-kick from Bally was gathered by Hamer who bundled home. Thereafter we were sloppy and when a battling Kensington earned a penalty things were looking shaky. However, Pat then produced a wonder save and launched a counter-attack from which we scored. Harsh on Ken. They never gave up and got a deserved consolation strike. Happy to pick up 3 pts and next up is pips, which will be a humdinger...

welton 0-1 bucu

gutted for the lads today battled so well and fought so hard, and we lost due to a penalty which i honestly still did not think was pen and they hardly appealed which says it all, at the end of the day when your down the bottom you dont get those decisions as they say not surprised, and that could be the difference beteen getting relegated or staying up, i wont say no more :)

just have to keep plugging away, bucu as always nice bunch of lads i hope they get promoted

Nice one Newelly, great result. It's always a difficult place to go and get a result. Iain's mini-bus driving must have done the trick! At least it's proved more fruitful than last season!

In all seriousness though we now have an important next few weeks ahead;

Fixtures for the next month

5/11 - St. Nicholas Wanderers (anybody know anything about them? I know it's their A-team and no that doesn't include B-A-baracus!)
12/11 - BSXI - as Jim has already mentioned should be a real humdinger
19/11 - Christchurch - tough, solid and we only managed a solitary point against them last season
26/11 - Woodlands - old rivals, expecting a very different match to the previous encounter in the cup (from a few weeks back when I made a guest appearance as 1st half referee!)

Looking forward to them all, let's just hope the curse of cancellations and postponements due to weather stay away.

Some great results in the GFA for all of our teams. Everyone is doing the Churches league proud.

Phil we played them last year and won 6-3.They are a mix of older players in at the back on their way down and young lads trying to go up.If you are playing away the hardest thing to get over was the tiny pitch. The Pips line up that played us earlier in the season should win very comfortably.
Just looking on soccerworld. They are bottom of their league and lost 10-0 yesterday.
