BSXI v SAS
Undoubtedly the tie of the round. SAS were flying, but had a blip last week. BSXI also come in off a defeat, so one of these two will have the unusual experience (for them) of two defeats in a row. I'm gonna pick BSXI to progress, but it could easily go the other way, and I wouldn't be surprised to see extra time and penalties.

Pip n Jay v Woodies
Another heavyweight clash, with two of the best attacking sides in the league on their day. Both teams probably a little suspect at the back, so I expect goals. I'm gonna pick Pips to win on current form.

Suburbs v Slip
I won't predict a winner. We've got a few people missing from last week (including our keeper and joint top scorer), but equally a couple coming back into the side. Keeper duties are going to be shared following negotiations with various parties, but I still think we have a strong enough side to win this game. I'm sure Suburbs will be looking for an upset following our 8-0 win last year, and I certainly don't expect to get near that scoreline again.

Castle Green v Nailsea
Fascinating game, not just because it should be a good'un, but it will also provide some insight into the Div 2 title race. Nailsea seem to have started the season quite well, CG maybe not flying quite as well as people thought, but still getting points. Another one that could go to extra time and pens, I'm picking CG to shade it.

Rock v Powerhouse
Don't know much about Rock, but Powerhouse seem to have started fairly well, so I'll pick them to take it.

VCF Santos v Corinthians
Santos were the BCFA's most in-form team until last week. I'm backing their bouncebackability to take this one.

Welton v Hayhill
Welton struggling so far, which surprises me as they looked fairly decent when we played them in a friendly pre-season. I'm gonna back them to nick this one and get their season kick-started.

Christchurch v Kensington
Not being played until next week for some reason, but included as this is cup predictions. CC don't seem to be firing as well as last season, and I only saw about 20 minutes of our game with Kensington, so hard to call. I'll pick CC's div 1 experience to come through for them.
Only BCFA team to beat BSXI 4 times since 12th December 2009.....

CHRISTCHURCH WIN

Welton v Hayhill too close to call.
Lenny should be making his first start in over 6 months, so will be nice to see him firing them in again. The best result for us would be for him to get through the game injury free. We have lost what I believe to be the best defender in the league for six months due to a bad injury in his Sunday game so we are short at the back. I hope we can shade it and have a decent cup run to overshadow what will be a relegation battle at the bottom of Division 2.
The only time you run out of chances is when you stop taking them.

probably welton's most consistent player since he joined the season we won div 3. massive blow for adam simmonds and the team probably one of the best defenders in the division (although he thinks hes a midfielder) so it is a huge blow. he is a fit and healthy lad so im sure he will heal quickly but these sort of injuries take time.

going to be a tough one for us always close games between us and hayhill and dont expect anything different.

there are some real tough cup fixtures that are to close to call i think

So what would constitute flying as a matter of interest?

Well, you've won all your games, but only by two goals. I was expecting you to win every game this season by at least 5 clear goals.....

This is a tough division you know, just happy to be where we are right now because there are a few div 2 teams that would cause a fright in div 1.

p.s. watch out tomorrow...
