Rock v Powerhouse BUCU or Pips v Thornbury Welton v Hayhill Santos v Corinthians of Bath Christchurch v Kensington Castle Green v Nailsea Suburbs v Counterslip BSXI v SAS Tie of the round has to be BSXI v SAS, one of the favourites going out. Games to be played 8th october. Ben, when will shield draw be done? Just thinking of referees. Congratulations to Woodies.

Ben, when will shield draw be done? Just thinking of referees. Shield draw is difficult as I really need to know the teams in the competition before setting up the draw on Full-Time. (ie Unlike the BUCU/Pips match above you can't have an "either/or" option in the initial round of a knockout comp). So, I'll do the draw after 8th October (assuming games are played that day!) for the 22nd October Shield prelim round. Also, as only 8 teams will be involved in the Shield prelim it may be that other teams want to bring forward league games to that day so it could be a busy fortnight in Otober for me and you Dan.

FT is looking a bit odd - it is showing Hillfields beating CC 8-1 when it was the other way round. Maybe we didn't lose 6-2 to SAS after all???

We already have Pistols on the 22nd so I assume as they are not in the cup, and will be in the shield our league game is postponed, regardless of our cup result. The only time you run out of chances is when you stop taking them.

The 8th is the day when there are no league games so teams may want to bring games forward. the 22nd is the one where pre-existing games may have to be moved around depending on which 8 teams are in the Shield prelim. Hope that all makes sense!

A team in the Shield which has a league fixture on 22 October can't bring the Shield fixture forward as the draw won't be completed until after 8 October? That means we at TBCFC will have to re-arrange our league fixture on 22 October, whatever? Hope you had a good break.....straight back into it then!

Shield round on 22nd October is the Prelim involving 8 teams only. There are also 12 other teams who will be in the Shield Round 1 proper (on 19th November) but will be available for league games on 22nd October.
So, given the relative numbers I felt it was more efficient to arrange a full set of provisional league games and then up to 8 will have to be postponed (rather than leaving the week blank and then setting up 10 league games at 2 weeks notice with the moans from managers that they can't raise a team because their players thought it was a free week!)
However, thinking outside the (Full-Time) box, if I get the chance this weekend I'll do a manual Prelim draw offline and send round the details by email. This will give a bit more certainty to a few teams but will still leave unknowns for many others.

So if we win our cup game vs Hayhill 19th November will be free for us. The only time you run out of chances is when you stop taking them.

Chris is the man in the know on this. 10 points to the man in black. Perhaps I should do a spreadsheet with all this date information in and send it round the managers...
