Hillfields Res 5 v Harcliffe 8

Yes crazy scoreline but there were good reasons.

Ref didn't turn up and turns out his daughter was rushed to hospital so I hope she is OK thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

We didn't have any subs and Hartcliffe didn't have anyone able on the bench to ref. I said we would play with 10 and they said they would too. They also said they would ref the second half and take off one of their players. Very humbling and amazing attitude from Zoe and her lads.

Hartcliffe went 2-0 up in 10 minutes and it looked like we were in for a battering, however Leon scored a great goal from the edge and though Hartcliffe scored a third, Joab scored to set up an interesting second half.

Hartcliffe took off two of their best players who split the half to ref the game. We scored straight away to equalise Leon again, then we took the lead with a deflected effort off of Alex.

We looked in control and had chances to increase our lead, however nobody could have predicted that one of our players would flip out and just go crazy we took him off before he hurt anybody but the damaged had already been done he helped Hartcliffe earn a penalty equaliser and then gave away a freekick which they took the lead from we then took him off before he was sent off. Obviously this left us with 9 against 10 (even though they said we could bring a played on but didn't want to break the rules), they went 7-4 up we scored a 5th through Nathan but they got an 8th to wrap up a great win.

It was amazing to see the attitude of the Hartcliffe lads they didn't have to play us with 10 and they did then their captian and best player came off to ref the game, the attitude and understanding of Zoe was amazing as well. They get bad press even in this league but I saw an amazing thing in the Harcliffe team and the work Zoe is doing is remarkable, very humbling and although we lost out I am please they came away winners as their attitude deserved it.
