Should we have a BCFA twitter account for announcing results and goal scorers? Just wondering if this would be more accessible in this smart phone, mobile age? Never used Twitter. How would it be better than posting on the forum? (Genuine question, I have no idea how it works) Only BCFA team to beat BSXI 4 times since 12th December 2009.....

I have created a Twitter account for Bristol Churches FA called @bristolchurches (meant to include the FA bit but Twitter created it). Maybe we cna get a team of 2-3 of us that can update it/retweet etc during the season.

A lot of people have twitter on their phones and could just post their score and then the BCFA account can just retweet so that all followers can see it. I don't think it would replace the messageboard for details etc but could be quite useful for quick posting of results.

Quite a few of us are sending texts after games anyway, sometimes responding to a number of msgs ie texting the result several times over. Twitter resolves that and you just do it once Green Army!"You don't stop playing football because you get old, you get old because you stop playing football"Mangotsfield and Castle Green URC

Found it and following! I reckon it's a case of making managers aware of it and then those that use it do and those that don't don't! Green Army!"You don't stop playing football because you get old, you get old because you stop playing football"Mangotsfield and Castle Green URC

I did set up a BCFA twitter account in September 2009 but noone really understood what it was about. It was called BCFA Results You don't want it reliant on any one person having to retweet a result and I was playing with the idea of letting everyone have the pw to the account but then dcided against this. I don't think we need specific account at all though. If we just agree a hash tag to use then anyone with a twitter account can post and anyone interested can search for the hashtag? #bcfaresults Si VCF Santos for Div 1 & 3 next season.

In 2009 I thought twitter referred to the noise in the trees outside my house at 5-6 o'clock in the morning! There is a community though of players and managers swapping results via text every Saturday midday onwards. I reckon this twitter lark (no pun intended) is a good idea Think the hashtag idea is possibly best. Can we agreed #bcfaresults chaps? #bcfaresults it is. The only time you run out of chances is when you stop taking them.

Ok then, so explain how I do this. I know I can use Twitter on my phone, but I've never used it. Do I need to set up a Twitter account first? And how do I use this # tag thing? Only BCFA team to beat BSXI 4 times since 12th December 2009.....

Yes you need to set up an account. Then after a game you put something like "Counterslip 0 Woodies 2, undone by those good looking boys from Clifton again #bcfaresults". Then others can go into the section on "trending" and search for bcfaresults and it will list all the tweets that have the #bcfaresults tag. Simples.

Can I ask that we all only use #bcfaresults to register a result and avoid it developing into a sea of dross? Perhaps we should have a #bcfaidlechat for all the bragging, whinging, wind ups and general trash talking? Surely the message board will do for the trash talking? I'll set up a Twitter account then and see what I can do. Checked the Android market last night and it seems from people's reviews there's a Twitter app not done by Twitter that is much more highly rated than the official Twitter app. Only BCFA team to beat BSXI 4 times since 12th December 2009.....

I may be able to put a Bristol churches feed on the homepage of the website and that way its your job to update the scores, those without twitter can still see the results and those who know scores can post them. I have done this on our new building website so I know it works. Has seen 4 lads through his team become Christians in the last 18 months or so - How awesome is that?
