Surburbs 4-2 Welton
Good first game of the season to get the cobwebs out, gave a few players a nice 90 minute run out they might not normally get.
Goals from Freddie Lines and myself, both direct from corners.
They were 3-1 up HT, blatant handball leading up to the 1st, poor defending 2nd and 3rd and definite penalty for their 4th.
No complaints with the result, the scoreline should of perhaps been different but Suburbs deserved the win and should go on to storm Division 3.
Nice to break in gently with a second half 45 mins now under my belt. We had a few missing so wouldn't read much into that result and we should improve friendly by friendly, think we have 6 before our first game in the cup prelim vs Powerhouse.
Good luck Suburbs with your season, next friendly Slip on Saturday, will be much sterner test, if we play like we did Sat we will lose 10-0, but hope to see a much improved performance.
The only time you run out of chances is when you stop taking them.
