Well, OCR have nicked our player of the season this year - Jonty Flynn - and I've also heard that Matt Smith of Woodies may be joining them, so they may be a good shout to be promoted from Div 3. BSXI have lost Franco, but they'll still be up there. In all fairness, it's hard to predict as a few teams (Christchurch, Widcombe and Woodies spring to mind from Div 1) may well pick up some good students which will improve their chances if so. We'll probably learn a bit more once pre-season starts, but even then teams are missing players from holidays, so it won't really be until we're a couple of weeks in that you'll really know how teams are looking.

But I do think BSXI will win everything.
Only BCFA team to beat BSXI 4 times since 12th December 2009.....

Hmm, I thought you told me that? Obviously not, but I'm sure I heard it from somewhere. I don't think it was a definite, but they were trying to nick Tim from us too, he said he knows quite a few of their players through youth work stuff and he knows Matt from that too, so it makes sense from that perspective....

Nothing to report from this neck of the woods.

No one in, no one out (well maybe one off to uni) all injuries seem to be sorted except for Luke's long term rehab.

25 lads straining at the leash to start a punishing pre season programme before going into Day 1 at full tilt.

Until then, it's just chill and watch some cricket and possibly play some too if we can get Castle Green Cricket Club back off the ground too!

Talking of cricket Woodies have entered an evening league this year. Currently 3 from 3 having won all 3 games by 5 runs or less!

I read that on the BBC Gossip Column too, but they've entered both teams into next year's league, so I think the rumours are wrong.

Can you email me some details about the league.

We are experimenting with the odd 20 over game to see if the interest is really there and if so we may look to do more next season

I might take you up on that.

We have a game v Fishponds CC on 13/7 which is first venture to test the ice and see if we are serious about forming a cricket team. The lads are well up for it though. Snag is we have no gear and no ground so we are scrounging off of everyone, kit, the lot!

I would like to see a Churches Cricket League form though, that would be great!

Pathetic. Smithy just goes and jumps ship because we didn't win the league this year.

Can't see that a reply was given with any dates, do we know when the fixutres are going to be available for next season? Got a few weekends to make plans for and would like to try and avoid certain fixtures
Just completed my 21st consecutive BCFA season!
