How many people on here have applied for tickets and how much could you end up forking out?

I've applied for the maximum.

Athletics - 6 evening and 1 morning session
Swimming - 6 evening sessions
Track Cycling - 1 evening session
BMX - Finals
Rowing - Saturday Finals
Basketball - Qtr finals evening session
Football - 1 match in Cardiff
Tennis - Qtr Finals
Opening Ceremony

Could cost up to £3415.24Scared

I just hope I get at least 1 evening session in Athletics / Swimming.Pray

I have applied for...

Athletics - 3 evening sessions (I think) and two morning sessions
Basketball - both mens QF sessions
Tennis - 3rd round centre court, QF court 1

Total cost (preferred prices) = £1500 approx
Max cost = £1800 approx

Ben, I read a quote from Lord Coe yesterday saying some events were massively over-subscribed, such as the opening ceremony which is more than 10 times over-subscirbed. If that's the case for the 100m and 200m finals, then we might possibly stand a chance of getting tickets given that 5 of us have applied. Having said that, I'd guess the cheaper tickets are more over-subscribed than the more expensive ones. We'll find out soon though!!

I can'tafford to go to the Olympics Crying - however I am going to be a London ambassador which means I get put in and around London helping people get to their destinations, thought that it be a way of being involved without paying and I may well get put in the olympic park Anxious
Has seen 4 lads through his team become Christians in the last 18 months or so - How awesome is that?

I'm going for:

Football - 2 matches at Coventry
Gymnastics - morning session
Diving - morning session
Hockey - 2 matches

I think to take the family to all of the above is only £240 as we've gone for the cheap tickets. To be honest the kids will be happy with an ice cream and a chance to wave a flag so I'm not willing to pay top whack for them !! However I managed to pay their respective ages which I think is a great idea BigGrin

I got a bit overexcited. If my 'highest value' tickets come in across the board then I'll see £5,800 disappear from my accounts. My excuse is it's for a family of 4. Actually, that's still no excuse!

Blimey! That's even more than Benjiman!!! Presumably you wouldn't go to everything if you got all those tickets though? I'm really hoping to get an athletics session and some basketball.

Ok, anyone out there actually had any money taken yet? Myself, Benjiman, RingofFire and another mate of ours have applied for over £8k of tickets between us. Nothing gone from our accounts yet. Sad Hard to know what's going on. I read something a while back suggesting most people would get more than they bargained for, but now I'm hearing the opposite....

Benjiman phoned me last night to say he'd noticed a difference of about £46 between his actual balance and his available balance. If it is for Olympic tickets, it could mean he has two tickets for the preliminary football out of his £3.5k application. Still nothing from my account - I'm losing hope. Pretty gutting really.

I can confirm I only had £46 taken, absolutely gutted.

£750 disappeared this weekend but I can't remember how much the batches were that I ordered so don't know which one(s) I may have. Guess I can wait another couple of weeks to find out.

My suspicion is that they are sorting it out one sport at a time so maybe the money will come out piecemeal?

Ben, losing that amount over a weekend sounds more like what having children does to the bank account rather than Olympic tickets........... Wink

TBC Ben, your bank account will only be debited once, unless somebody else's payment fails 3 times and their tickets are then re-distributed, in which case there's a very small chance that you might pick up their tickets and have a second debit.

Some one at our work applied for 5k worth of tickets and only had 150 debited.

Does that mean all he's got is them out of 5k's worth or could more money come out at later date?
The only time you run out of chances is when you stop taking them.

Read my post above. d'oh!

Sounds like a fairly common story, and judging by the recent email from LOCOG, athletics is all sold out, which is the thing I most wanted to see. I'm now looking into the possibility of my Mum's French exchange pal getting tickets for me, which is a bit crazy. They'll be more expensive, but I'd rather spend money on something I really want to see than something I'm not too fussed about.

Surely there will be a flood of tickets on Ebay and Gumtree for tickets that people don't want so there will be lots of tickets floating around. Maybe not for the athletics but for the minor sports maybe.

I think eBay have said they won't allow Olympic tickets to be sold on their site?

Love the way that Athletics becomes a major sport for a couple of weeks every four years.
