Carmel 1 - Powerhouse 8 Very pleased with todays result as we have continued playing the good attacking football that we used against Hillfields and our last match against Carmel. Carmel put together some good passes at the start but once we had scored our first goal there was really only one team who were going to win the game. Our strikers put the Carmel defense under pressure which gave us a great platform to play football in their half. We have Carmel again next week! Division 3 champions 2011

Thornbury 4-4 Suburbs It was a good result for us today against a tough opponent. The game was played in good spirit though one of our players got sent off. He is sorry and disappointed in himself. The first half was well contested- both teams having chances. At half time it was 2-1 to Thornbury. Then the second half got a bit more interesting, our player got sent off, after that Thornbury went 3-1 up. Then we scored 3 goals to take the lead with about 10 minutes to go but we couldn’t quite hold on and conceded 5 minutes to go to make it 4-4. I’m really proud of the guys who gave their all today and happy with the point. Goals were scored by Mitch Hayward (2), Dan Hull and Chris Dinham. Suburbs United

Good game in muddy conditions. Cheers Lads Close game which maybe a draw was fair but it always had the makings of a 1-0 and Nailsea got the all important goal through Gunning. Bit gutted really as a win would have moved us clear and now with Widcombe beating Santos 3-2 we are just a point off of relegation Good all round attitude from both teams and the ref was outstanding Has seen 4 lads through his team become Christians in the last 18 months or so - How awesome is that?

An amazing game today but we are kicking ourselves we didn't take all 3 points over the 90 minutes. At 3-1 up and cruising against 10 men and a free kick was hit at the wall, I swung my left foot, sliced it and it looped into the air and over our keeper for a freak own goal. Suburbs played better with 10 men (that happens so often!) and they equalised after a mix up at the back. With 5 mins they scored and we equalised with 2 mins left. Once again we paid for missing chances, I can count 4 we should have taken (2 by me) but you've got to put the ball in the back of the net. A big dent to our promotion hopes but Castle Green lost to Welton today so that late equaliser could prove crucial. Hats off to Suburbs...the way they continued to battle on and attack with 10 men was credit to them and they played some great football at times. You should be proud Nathan....a gritty performance so nearly rewarded with 3 points. Gutted not to win, very fortunate not to lose in the end! Goals for the Baps were scored by Chris Beddoes, Dave Tushingham (penalty), Phil Loadwick and Andy Robertson.

Thank you. Probably coz u swore in it Also u need to be careful what you say about other teams on here even if it is true. You need to contact the manager and the commitee if there is any problem to discuss don't air it on here. We all know about Castle Greens poor disiplinary issues, eye gouging, stamping, swearing and thats just Ian. cbeds wrote:but Castle Green lost to Welton today I take back everything I said about the Shield semi!! Have to say I'm surprised so many games happened today. Obviously Thornbury and Nailsea always survive the rain, but we were due to play a friendly against CC at Filwood today. Went there this morning and the pitches were drenched. There was visible water on about half the pitch they'd given us, and they called all games off for today whilst I was there. Only BCFA team to beat BSXI 4 times since 12th December 2009.....

I'm sensible enough to know not to swear on a forum such as this. Quite odd that the two options seem to be either a) say nothing or b) make an official complaint. I'm sure there should be some sort of middle ground.

Welton Rangers 5-3 Castle Green Difficult game for both sides on a boggy pitch, same for both sides and Welton dealt with the conditions better than us. Well done to Welton. A hattrick from Dan Powell provided CG's 3 goals. Looking forward to the return in 2 weeks in the shield semi. Looking forward to the return in 2 weeks in the shield semi. Was wondering if he got all three of yours. Your 9, 10 and 12 were a very dangerous three pronged attack. The Semi should be a good one.

SAS 1 BSX1 2 - a really competitive game with both sides producing quality football on a sticky but perfectly playable pitch.
SAS bossed the game early doors and had us on the back foot. There goal was a shade fortuitous but probably deserved. As is often the case it then sparked us into life and we came back strongly with two quick goals including an awesome solo effort from the ginger ninja.
Chances came and went second half but no goals were added. An excellent 3 points and a little prayer that SAS play as well next week...

Good summary - good quality football, pitch made it hard work. Our goal from Phil, direct from a corner which probably (!) wasn't the intention. 2 good goals from BSXI, both launched off the back of our attacks being broken down. In the second half we started chasing the game but didn't really create too much whilst at the same time getting caught out at least a couple of times - could've been 4-1 if the finishing was better (and you suspect it might have been better if they weren't already winning). Having said that, with the last couple of kicks of the game their keeper fumbled a 25-yarder from Phil that Mike C couldn't quite finish on the rebound (can't believe he didn't lay to off to me instead of shooting from an impossible angle - probably a reflection on my shooting accuracy!) Scoreline probably a fair reflection of the game I'd say. Need to create a few more chances against CC next week.
