Have just spoken to Bath Uni, Widcombe Corintians V Kensington is OFF.

The groundstaff said that the pitches were barely playable now and with a -4C tonight ther would be no chance at all for tomorrow morning and not much better for the afternoon. So it looks like 2 games of Hockey to watch. Not that I mind as I will be watching the boys play.

Nailsea v Slip also off.

Kelvin phoned just now to say that snow is settling down there. Both agreed there's little chance of playing, and given that conditions on the road could be dodgy tomorrow morning, it's best to knock it on the head now.
Only BCFA team to beat BSXI 4 times since 12th December 2009.....

We will do our best Lenny to get the game on in the northern reaches of BCFA Land (Alveston). We're hard up north, unlike southern softy namby pamby Bristol and Somerset types.

Don't set off until I call you at 8.30 by the way!

Yeah, right Chris. Are you sure it's the boys you'll be watching playing hockey at Bath? My lads were gutted to play Widcombe at Fry's this year as they wouldn't have the pleasure of walking past all those hockey matches to and from the pitch Whistle

The Boys play for Frys Hockey club whose home ground is Wellsway school on the Astroturf pitch. Stephen is playing for the Second's 11.00 AM at Wellsway and Jonathan for the first team at UWE. Added to that it is Missionary weekend at Church and it makes for another very hectic Saturday, as it would have been had the football been on.

We've had no call from Packers today, so no news is good news.

See what happens when we get there, we need to play and catch up on fixtures

Pips - Widcombe called off shortly before 9am. Hope Widcombe didn't set off. Patchway undersoil also failed to touch or have any effect whatsoever on the frozen surface. GFA next week then if the weather allows!

'The Baps' v Welton was postponed this morning at 8.15.

Incredibly frustrating as the pitch was NOT frozen, it took a stud nicely......the problem was it was covered in a sea of white and none of the lines were visible. We discussed the possibility of sweeping the lines but with that and having to mark them we thought that would be impractical as it was snowing when we made the decision. Very frustrating as I'm sure the pitch was in great nick in the afternoon.
