Not long to go now Can we win down under? Or will we get spanked again? Only 2 weeks until the first test I've set up a fantasy ashes with cricket web, name BCFA, number 1289869671 My prediction is an England win, 2-1 Congratulations to Woodies.

Less than 2 weeks Dan, starts next Thursday ! I cannot wait. This has to be our best chance of winning down under since the 80's, my prediction a while back was 2-2 with us retaining the Ashes but I am starting to think we can shade it. The key will be whether we can bowl them out twice (sounds obvious I know). Obviously Swann will be key and you know the Aussies will try and attack him but as a spinner you like that, and Swann certainly does. Can't see Anderson making a massive impact but if he can get 1-2 wickets an innings and Finn likewise and we get Broad to fire then we have a great chance.
The preparations have gone well, even Cook got some runs! I think this will be the series when finally people realise that Bell is class.
Don't think I will do the fantasy league thing, there's just not enough variety of players playing, maybe only 25 across the whole series maximum.
Come on England !!

I'm buzzin too. I can see us winning and agree with what Eako says. Need Broad to step up and I think he is capable of doing so. Can I just get a second opinion on something as the time zones are confusing me. 1st Test: Day 1 25 Nov starts at approx 23:00 (Thurs night) Day 2 26 Nov starts at approx 23:00 (Fri night) Day 3 27 Nov starts at approx 23:00 (Sat night) Day 4 28 Nov starts at approx 23:00 (Sun night) Day 5 29 Nov starts at approx 23:00 (Mon night) So to catch all of the action I would need to take Friday off to sleep and then Monday and Tuesday - correct? 2nd Test: Day 1 3 Dec starts at approx 23:00 (Fri night) Day 2 4 Dec starts at approx 23:00 (Sat night) Day 3 5 Dec starts at approx 23:00 (Sun night) Day 4 6 Dec starts at approx 23:00 (Mon night) Day 5 7 Dec starts at approx 23:00 (Tues night) So to catch all of the action I would need to take Mon, Tues, Weds off - correct? 3rd Test: Day 1 16 Dec starts at approx 02:00 (Thurs night) Day 2 17 Dec starts at approx 23:00 (Fri night) Day 3 18 Dec starts at approx 23:00 (Sat night) Day 4 19 Dec starts at approx 23:00 (Sun night) Day 5 20 Dec starts at approx 23:00 (Mon night) So to catch all of the action I would need to take Friday off to sleep and then Monday and Tuesday - correct? I've got 4 days holiday to use before Christmas and have nothing else to do so might as well catch the cricket. I get Fridays off anyway so I'm thinking the Perth test could be a good one. What you reckon? "Ashton will never get in your boat Kirbs. He’s too much of a chirpser." Nathan Redshaw, 16/07/2009.

Asho, just about right. I believe the above is when Sky's coverage starts but the first ball isn't bowled until midnight I believe. So do I stay up late to watch the first hour or get up early and watch part of the last session. For the first test the last session will start at 5am and finish around 7.30am assuming they go slightly over. Reckon it's got to be stay up late to see the first ball (and hope for a non Harmy ball if England are in the field!) and then up early to watch the last hour or so of the 3rd session. I am not working next Friday so I could be persuaded to watch through the night.
Rumour has it that ITV is close to securing a deal to show the highlights for each day which will be great other than it's ITV....

Imagine the commentary for that - awful. I've got plenty of days off during the ashes so will get to watch plenty @@ Congratulations to Woodies.

I might just try catch the 5th day of each test. Will definitely wake up an hour earlier for work each day to watch it for a bit. Man, I wish I was out there so frickin bad. "Ashton will never get in your boat Kirbs. He’s too much of a chirpser." Nathan Redshaw, 16/07/2009.

I think David Pleat and Graham Taylor should do it. Their constant mis-pronunciation of names will be great. 'In comes Michelle Johnson to bowl to Paul Collywood...he's edged it to Brad Hadine and he's gone! Next in...Jonathan Trutt' - can't wait. Congratulations to Woodies.

Probably a good time for Ron Atkinson to make his comeback I reckon. And all the British public will forgive him if he calls Ponting a convict or Shane Watson a surf bum.

So what's your excuse for poor football knowledge?
Generally your average footy fan isn't in to cricket. That's because your average footy fan isn't very intelligent.
