I'm tempted to predict a washout, but just in case we get to play....

Div 1
Cup - Nailsea v Pip n Jay - away win
SAS United v Christchurch - away win
Widcombe Wanderers v Counterslip - we have an awful record against Widcombe, but took 4 points from them last season, so hoping we can get a result
Woodland Rangers v Bristol Sanctuary XI - draw

Div 2
Bristol Pistols v Castle Green - away win
Racing Santos v Rock Crusaders - away win
Thornbury Baptist v BUCU - home win
Widcombe Corinthians v Suburbs United - draw

Div 3
Carmel v Hartcliffe Saints - away win
Grace Church v Hayhill - away win
Oasis Cairns Road v Powerhouse FC - draw
Only BCFA team to beat BSXI 4 times since 12th December 2009.....

Could be a key weekend in Div 1 with the top 4 all playing each other. WIns for SAS and Woodies will blow the title race wide open - however wins for BSXI and Christchurch really will mean its a two horse race. My predictions are:

Div 1
SAS 0 vs 2 Christchurch
SAS have only picked up 1 point from their last 3 league games - and I'm afraid I don't think they'll get any more on Sat.

Widcombe 1 vs 4 Counterslip
Slip have started to find the back of the net and will plunge Widcombe further into relegation trouble

Woodies 3 vs 4 BSXI
I'm sure Woodies will be right up for this one as the last two games have produced 8-0 and 6-1 wins for the mighty stripes. Think the match will be full of goals with Franco scoring a brace in the last 5mins to give us the points.

Cup
Nailsea 1 vs 3 PnJ
Comfortable away victory for an inform PnJ side.

Apparently Pistols v Castle Green is the first casualty this weekend. Here's to more rain over Bath uni!
Congratulations to Woodies.

Bath Uni are making a decision at 3.00PM, it is not looking good and steady rain has been falling in Bath for the last 45 mins from very dark skies.

Hi Andy,

I'm really sorry but following our recent pitch inspection we have been forced to close pitches for this weekend so I do need to cancel your pitch booking for Saturday 13th November 2010. There will obviously be no charge for this cancellation.

Fingers crossed for a mild and dry winter.

Apologies.

Nope, the game is on. We've moved it to Packers where we have drainage under the pitch.

We knew it would be a good investment!!

We're still on at the moment. Spoke to Little Stoke at 4pm and they said it was ok then and will be contacting me first thing if there's any problems.

We haven't had THAT much since then so I'm hoping that it stays pretty much dry through the night. We're itching to kick off our season again!!!

i am really surprised by the amount of games off. yes yesterday wasnt pretty by any means but it was a drizzle/heavy drizzle all day not a constant down pour plus take into fact it was very windy thursday night.

i just think councils and groundsman panic. have a look at the forecast and it has been dry mainly overnight and today is dry all day as well. i appreciate the fact people want to know on a friday rather than a saturday morning but we havent had an awful lot of rain so far this season

Lenny, I think we suffer slightly playing on Saturday mornings. I know that our groundsman won't necessarily go up there first thing in the morning but because they have rugby and football there Saturday afternoon he will head up there late morning to check for the afternoon games so he tends to make a call for us on a Friday night. The rain yesterday was pretty constant and it was very wet last night and carried on raining a bit overnight. For us as well at Failand it seems like it has i9t's own little micro-climate at times. If it is raining anywhere in Bristol, you can guarantee it's raining in Failand.

As football was cancelled, I went to a Dads and Toddlers thing at our church. One of the dads there told me he'd been up at 1am to drive one of his kids around to get them to sleep, and said the rain then was absolutely incredible. Said he went round the centre and laughed at all the girls in short skirts and skimpy tops who were absolutely soaked through.

I'm not very surprised that so many games went. Thought it was always on the cards after Thursday.
