My nephew has Asperger's syndrome which for those who don't know is an autism spectrum disorder that is characterized by significant difficulties in social interaction. My family have been praying for him for years as it massively effects his life. He's unable to work and very often can not even leave the house due to the possibility of social interaction.
On many occasions I've invited him to come and get involved with the mighty BSXI, as he loves football - but he always declines. However God had done massive works over the past month and really answered my prayers. 3 weeks ago I asked again if he would like to come and get involved and for the first time in years - he agreed. This would not have happened without God's intervention. The last 2 weeks he has started as sub for BSXI and even been able to play 10mins in each game. After so many years of prayer I'll admit that my faith for a miracle was getting smaller - but perhaps I was being taught perserverance, and who are we to tell God when to perform miracles ??
However - there is more. Last week a friend asked him if he would work in his factory. Again - in the past, the social difficulties would have made this an impossibility, but my nephew has agreed to go and today is the first day that he has ever gone to work.
God has started a massive work in my nephew. I firmly believe that the oppurtunity of playing football and interacting socially with like-minded men, has been instrumental.

Loving that Dan. Have had to work with quite a few people with aspergers over the years and it has been constantly frustrating because it is seen by a lot of professionals as a 'lesser' form of autism that wasn't in need of so much support. My old man had it as well. Great to hear about someone making genuine progress thanks to a bit of divine intervention and, I'm guessing, a very supportive family. All the best fella.
