Probably more a case of "Slightly Updated England" in reality. Who's going to watch the game tonight? I think I'll probably watch some of it, but will turn off if it's not a good game. Hoping a few of the youngsters are given a good chance. I'll predict a starting line up of....

Hart
Johnson Dawson Terry Cole
Walcott Barry Lamps Johnson
Gerrard
Rooney

NB That's not necessarily what I want to see, but it's who I think will be picked. Gibbs and Zamora on at HT plus a few others, Wilshere for last 20.
Only BCFA team to beat BSXI 4 times since 12th December 2009.....

Hmm, looks very much like "old england" to me.

I would like to see a bigger overhaul bringing Wilshere to start perhaps and any other energetic young 'uns. I would leave Rooney out after his pitiful performance at the World Cup.

Rooney and Brighton's golden boy Zamora to start I reckon. First Brighton player (either former or current!) to play for England since the 80's I reckon, maybe Steve Foster or Gary Stevens were the last.

Although B&HA pocketed a shedload of money when Gareth Barry won an England cap.

If you're not including Barry as an ex-player then that means I can't include Zamora as an ex-Gashe....oops I've been trying not to think too much about them today. (Suddenly everyone in my office is a die-hard Oxford fan.)

Yeah, Barry never played for the first team or possibly the reserves, only the youth team. Zamora played for the Rovers reserves at least didn't he? Just think back then the embaarrassment of riches that Rovers had up front !!

I missed the first 25 minutes when we apparently played quite well. Wasn't massively impressed by what I saw. Second half was better than what I saw of the first half, although reading the BBC website, it sounds like we played best right at the start.

Adam Johnson did quite well second half, and I thought Gibbs and Ashley Young played well too. Jagielka did ok, Dawson obviously made a bit of an error for the goal. Joe Hart looked good though. Have we finally found a decent number 1?

Joe Hart has to be the new number 1 but how much will he play at City now Shay Given is back fit?

He's started all of City's pre season games but that might mean anything.

It was ok last night, 2 cracking goals. Fordy was moaning on fb about how much Gerrard celebrated for his first goal - can't win at the moment with fans like that. If he didn't celebrate and show some passion then they would moan anyway!

Thought Walcott was pretty pants last night. If he wasn't quick he'd be nowhere near the squad.
Congratulations to Woodies.

Apparently Gerrard was shouting "F******g lift us" to the crowd (have looked at the replays and this does seem to be pretty accurate). Suppose its good in one respect - clearly passionate for the team, and most England fans would be pleased to see a bit of passion in a friendly. On the other hand, you'd want players to take responsibility for 'lifting' the team themselves.

Both goals were absolute class though. Credit where its due.

Probably at least 3 places too high.

Strange one this. Looking at us player for player we should be there or threreabouts based on our qualifying results but fact is we bottle it when it really matters (ie at major tournaments).

I think the facts are is we only played 3 games less than the finalist at WC and onlt lost 1 game even though we were pants so our almost 100% before and 100% record since makes us look like a top six team, when we are actually a joke when it matters v big teams, we play them so rarely that we look better than we are when seeded.
Has seen 4 lads through his team become Christians in the last 18 months or so - How awesome is that?
