Well, some people just don't know when to give up. Despite losing every fixture to date against the mighty Woodies, Slip keep on coming back for more. The date and pitch are booked, Thursday 16th July 2009. Woodies team are looking strong and the squad looks good:
Eakins Newton-Smith (T) Newton-Smith (P) Baynton Peach (pending usual fitness assessment) Ong (Man in shorts) Crossman Hurlin Pearse Smith Peregrine Seargant McGrath
Packed with runs and wickets I would say. Net practice may be required since we might actually take Slip seriously this year now Dan has realised he isn't a batsman.

I don't know the exact make-up of the Slip team, but I can add a few names that I know are in.... Shears Flynn (J) Haynes Flynn (D) Frost (N) Redshaw Chritchlow Fair O'Shea?? It's a stronger looking team than we've had before. I even intend to get a few net sessions in to improve myself, and with Ashton sharpening his tools in OB's 3rds, things are looking good. :) Only BCFA team to beat BSXI 4 times since 12th December 2009.....

My team are under no illusions that this is make or break. We HAVE to beat Woodies. Congratulations to Woodies.

:livid: Well let's go to the nets at Imperial sometime and you and Ashton can prove to me who the batter batter is. Si, Phil C has offered his services as umpire. Congratulations to Woodies.

How on earth has O'shea survived the mass cull? Maltby? He can't play cricket! Tom Frost was under the impression he was playing! Who is Dabbs and are we seriously opening with a 14 and 15 year old partnership? "Ashton will never get in your boat Kirbs. He’s too much of a chirpser." Nathan Redshaw, 16/07/2009.

Dabbs is an attender of The 'Slip, big guy and he's a batter. Yes we are opening with that because they are both better than us at batting and bowling! Congratulations to Woodies.

Fair play, we gona hire out the nets for a few evening sessions? Woodies team looks to have a lot of batting! "Ashton will never get in your boat Kirbs. He’s too much of a chirpser." Nathan Redshaw, 16/07/2009.

I fear for the future of Slip if you are yet again humiliated by us in the cricket. How can you possibly come back from another drubbing??

Opening pair are both good players, and probably used to playing at a higher standard than this game will be. Mind you, that never helped Beano. I think they both play a bit of adult cricket, so they ought to be up to it. Didn't notice Maltby's name in there before. Not entirely convinced at him. Surely we can come up with someone better? What about your Dad Dan? He could keep wicket. Chris Dabbs has certainly got the potential to be a big hitter. He'll be the Inzamam of the team. Dan, are you going to organise a couple of net sessions for the whole team? I can't contemplate another hammering. Only BCFA team to beat BSXI 4 times since 12th December 2009.....

Jonty got 3 for 7 off 4 on sunday for the Keynsham 4ths. Congratulations to Woodies.

Get him bowling as well then!! I think Olly bowls a bit as well doesn't he? Oh he will be don't worry! Only problem is that if the under 17s get to the cup semi then he'll be playing in that that evening, so let's hope they lose! Olly is a allrounder, yes. Congratulations to Woodies.
