I believe Ben emailed all the team managers asking for any dates they already knew they couldn't play this season to be submitted by today. Provided everyone has done that, he hoped to have the fixtures out by Friday 16th July. I'm going from memory there though.
Only BCFA team to beat BSXI 4 times since 12th December 2009.....

Sounds about right Nath. Although I'm surprised it has taken as long as 2nd July for someone to ask when they are coming out !!!

Our pre-season starts tonight at 7pm. A tournament booked in for the 8th August and a few friendlies to arrange with a possible new kit, corner flags goal nets etc. Looking good for next season.

So is 16/7 the official date for the release of the fixture dates?

I think the wording was that as long as all managers answered Ben's questions in his email by the 2nd July, he would do his best to get the fixtures done by 16th July. Could feasibly be earlier than that I guess. Or later. Hope that helps. Wink

It would be good though to have an official fixtures day. Should attract a load of interest on here

Think thats all very well Ian but Ben can't guarantee everyone will give him the information by the required date.

I do know that Simon, give me some credit.

I am just saying that it would be great for the league if it could be made possible. Just imagine the anticipation and then the hits on the website on the day.

We have to be strict with teams on admin issues and if teams can't provide the info in time, then they forfeit. They either meet their deadline to raise inconvenient dates, or lose their ability to avoid certain dates. they won't make the same mistake twice.

From the posts written, it's obvious that the date is hopefully 16th July. Ben isn't working for the BCFA full time so can't guarantee when they'll be done by! And as for anticipation for the fixtures - really? It's not that special IMO.

Ben emailed me on Monday about finding out pitch sharing requirements for Filwood. We had to share with Carmel last season, but new team Hartcliffe Saints are also using Filwood, so I think the fixtures release is being held up waiting for the bloke from Filwood to get back to us. From experience, I wouldn't expect them to be finalised until August.......

I'll be happy if they don't come out til August. Whenever I flick over to the FA website it shows me that Woodies are champions. Not sure with the players we have lost this year whether the "3 in a row" is on the cards!

But there are about 5 pitches aren't there?

That sounds a bit ridiculous really. It it helps any of you south Bristol teams, we have vacated Daventry Road, so it should be up for grabs. £30 a game for the pitch too!

How do the pitches compare to Filwood?

From what I remember, prob better surface but very small and markings are poor.

The top pitch is fine and after I aired some views to them about standard of the markings and making sure changing rooms were open on time, we had no problems.

Personally I would prefer Filwood, especially for 1st Div football, but maybe Carmel or Hartcliffe may be interested.

Not sure if it is happening, but they were talking about turning the top pitch 90 degrees and then lengthening the bottom pitch for the season coming.

Have to say I found the management at The Park good to deal with.

We will be using it for some pre season games because Packers isn't available till 1st Sat in Sept due to the cricket season.
