Cup Final
Slip v Woodies - obviously Woodies must be favourites having comfortably beaten us in both league games this season without breaking into a sweat (and it was pretty hot last Saturday)!! I'm hoping we can give them more of a game this time, and you never know what can happen in a one-off. The odds will tip a bit more towards us if any of the unnamed Woodies trio don't make the game, assuming they're all part of Eakes planned starting line up. We have one or two injury concerns of our own. Everyone is fit to start the game, but I'm not too confident about whether two or three will be able to complete it.

Shield Final
Hillfields v Santos - Hillfields trying to defend their title, and it'll be interesting to see how they do against a Santos side who seem to range from top notch to below average in Div 1. I didn't think Hillfields looked like Div 1 material when we played them in the Cup Prelim in August, but they've looked a good side when we've played them previously (e.g. Shield last year), and I think they had a few missing in August. Nevertheless, I think Santos will take this one, 2-1.

Div 1
PnJ v Christchurch - backing PnJ to get a win here by the odd goal, and consign TBC to Div 2. 3-2
SAS v Widcombe - don't know if SAS will have any players back from last week, but even so, they seem to have lost form as Widcombe have gained it. 4-2 to WW.
Sanctuary v BSXI - comfortable win for BSXI, 6-1.

Div 2
BUCU v Nailsea - easy win for the champs, 5-1.
Kensington v Rock - 4-2 for Kensington.

Div 3
Pistols v Carmel - Pistols confirm promotion with a nervy 3-1 win.
Undisputed 2nd favourites for relegation.

A Cup/Shield prediction from the boys. Neither the Cup or Shield will go to extra time this year as I am not involved in the games.BigGrin

Cup Final
Slip v Woodies - My heart says Slip, but in reality Woodies should do it if you go with the form book. Sometimes in cup/shield finals the form book gets chucked out of the window. Ask Davo about 1996/97!

Shield Final
Hillfields v Santos - Once again, I am routing for Hillfields to fly the Div 2 flag. Santos have got the better squad though, having seen it first hand in training. Joe Allen v Mark Underdown could hold the key to the game. This could go either way.

A legendary Vale win sealed by a delightful chip from the corner of the box by a 17 yr old yours truly and a stunning overhead kick from Budgy (the first time his girlfriend had ever seen him play football!). The match ball was actually mine. A Christmas present bought for me by Rhys, who was playing for 'Slip that day. Both our names were written on the ball and we both got on the scoresheet, with Rhys scoring 'Slip's consolation in a 2-1 defeat.

Sorry, I realise that no-one actually did ask me as per Ian's post, but I couldn't resist. Funniest thing was that we had to squeeze in our final league game that afternoon. We were all a bit tipsy.

As for tomorrow, from what I've heard omens are not good for our injured players and it will hit us hard. They are all normal starters. Will still back us to win though. Expecting 'Slip to put up a much sterner fight with a stronger line up but hopefully we can nick it by the odd goal. 3-2 Woodies.

Santos should win the Shield, gaining their first proper silverware.

Looking forward to tomorrow, don't think we start favourites nor if i am honest do I expect to bring the shield back with us, but after last season maybe it's someone elses turn to have. however having not being able to enjoy the nailbiter last season I am hoping to just enjoy the occasion, the weather and hopefully the football got lots of support.

Don't mind who wins other final love both teams.
Already undisputed favourites for relegation and we've yet to kick a ball :-(

Thanks for pointing out the differences Crofty. Wink You've done a good job in that case. The team has presumably improved over the season. Well done!! A+

Don't really know what happened other than things changed a bit after your game and everything seemed to just click, not really much I can take credit for I am afraid.
