hsmith wrote:has anyone seen Soloman Kane? It looks intresting but hasnt had much press about it in the cinemas. A colleague of mine saw it and said it was dire. Effects started ok, but you see most of them in the trailer. He said it seems they ran out of budget as by the end, it was like watching a playstation 2 game. Plot was rubbish too.

I watched Clash of the Titans last week... didn't think it was that great. The original, despite its cgi not being anywhere near the new one, was better. In the new one, the acting is slightly bad in places, and they seem to rush through the 'epic' storyline. At 1h40ish, tha's impossible. 5/10
Also went to see Kick Ass last night. Absolutely quality! Definitely see it! It's not what you might think, and the trailers really don't do it justice. It's funny, has a good comic-book storyline, well acted on the whole, has a bit of gore and lots of guns. 8.5/10

That's probably the biggest soppy crap chick flick since The Notebook (same dreary writers). Eakes, surely your missus appreciates action films? If so, go see Kick Ass. There's a lovey-dovey storyline in it too.

Kick Ass was awesome, bit too close to the mark with the young girl sometimes but was OK. Has seen 4 lads through his team become Christians in the last 18 months or so - How awesome is that?

I got in the Christmas spirit last night by watching Die Hard 2. Planning on watching Die Hard and Home Alone over the next couple of nights. What films do other people always have to watch at Christmas? Only BCFA team to beat BSXI 4 times since 12th December 2009.....

The Holiday.
I went to see Tron Legacy in 3D the other night. I'd give it 6.7/10. It's a bit of a cult film really, so if you don't think anything of tron, you might not like it so much.

Went to see The King's Speech last night after hearing from several people that it was really good. And I quite liked it. Not sure I'd go and watch it again or get it on DVD, but it was certainly not as boring as I thought it would be from the title. Excellent performance from Colin Firth. Must be a shoe in for and Oscar now, especially after securing the BAFTA last night. Saw 127 Hours the other day and really enjoyed it. I was a little unsure how they would make a film out out of a guy trapped on his own in a canyon in the middle of nowhere. But it really worked
