Excellent news. Finally real artists are at the top for the Xmas number one as well as raising money for a fantastic cause Shelter through this online campaign.

Feel slightly sorry for little Joe McElderberry. Hope he realises it's an anti-Simon-Cowell-messing-up-Christmas-number-1 vote rather than anything against him personally, but overall Smile.
Only BCFA team to beat BSXI 4 times since 12th December 2009.....

Absolutely. After all the effort he put into writing those personal lyrics and the hours in the studio producing "his" song. Months and months of touring round dingy pubs just to get his music heard. Must be gutting to only sell 500,000 records and be guaranteed a number 1 next week. Wink

As an X-Factor hater I was delighted with the news. Maybe Cowell will now revert to releasing his next piece of fluffy pop after Christmas next year. I believe this was the case with the first season when Steve Brookstein won.

To be fair, how many of the artists currently in the chart actually write "their songs"? He's still gonna be known as the first X-Factor winner not to go straight to number 1, but to be fair, he did still sell a lot of records, and you're right, he'll probably be number 1 next week instead.

Isn't Rage's number 1 a bit 'fake'? They are only there because of an internet campaign, not due to people thinking, 'hey I might buy their single'. Don't get me wrong, I don't give two hoots wether Joe got number 1.
Congratulations to Woodies.

You missed the point completely, it is because of the Xfactor manufactured over produced rubbish that a campaign was started to make sure they didn’t get to number one. In no way is Rage's number one fake, its written and performed by real musicians.

The only way to beat them was to play them at their own game.

I think that the X-Factor winner should now record a cover version o Killing in the Name. That way everybody will be happy. Yay!

Steve who?
The only time you run out of chances is when you stop taking them.
