Pistols 1-3 'Slip

2-0 ht and quite comfortable but Pistols did division 2 proud in the second half with a spirited performance. Both teams could have scored more. Moody scored twice for us before Pistols scored with a pen that was blatant. Could have been an interesting last 5 minutes but 'Slip's new super sub settled the match.

The super-sub would have been better if he'd scored the quality delivery from the left back after a sprint and skinning to the corner, but no, he just tapped in an easy one at the end.

Rock 2-2 Suburbs

Rock Goals:
George Stiddard
Jon Birtles (pen)

Disappointed to be watching from the side, with a slight ankle injury. However i felt Rock were really unlucky. Two early goals from us. Could have been 3 put for a one on one miss. Suburbs first goal unlucky for Rock, but with an outfield player in goal we can't complain. Thought we were going to hold out for the win but for a nice run from a Suburbs player who passed it across for a nice slot in. Unfortunate for us not to come away with all 3 points. Could have done with having them.

When is Full Time getting updated? Anxiously waiting to see who is now top of the league.

Apologies - I've been a bit slack this week.

I'm hoping to get onto it later this morning.

Pips 5-2 Woodies (HT 1-2)
Oni (4), Reid
My apologies for my late response and brief report (not that anyone expects one!). Agree with what Eakes and the EP star match report says, the first half was definately dominated by Woodies. We have started a fair few matches slowly this season and the opening 25 mins we were hanging on as WR attacked from all angles. They deservedly went 2 up but when we started to compose ourselves and gain more confidence we improved. Our first goal was vital, created by Ali Mac and finished clinically by Ken at the near post. At 2-1 it may have gone either way but as has been mentioned the way we started the 2nd half was perfect with Woodies allowing Ken too much space to beat two defenders and finish - 2-2. The match was finely balanced but Woodies didn't cause as many problems or created as many chances in the 2nd half, their best chance coming from a corner was headed off the line (close but no cigar).

When Eakes tripped Ali inside the area Ken scored the penalty to complete his hat trick and with a 4th goal 10 mins later the two goal cushion gave us a bit of breathing space. Pips 5th (penalty) which led to the sending off (you couldn't really argue as last man inside the box) was probably a bit harsh on Woodies but it was a really competitive, tough match. So Pips got some revenge for last season's GFA elimination to Woodies at QF stage! It hasn't helped not playing for a few weeks but now it's back to league action and hopefully a run of games (10 league games left).

Into the GFA final against PNE, 29th March, who sit 3rd in Div 5 district league.

Looking forward to playing Woodies in a few weeks time.

The table has a worrying look to it now, with BS XI ominously sitting pretty at the top. I think this weekend's games are key. Can Christchurch keep up with BS XI by beating us (will I be resting key individuals Wink) and will they beat SAS who gave them a good game the other week. This weekend could be key to the outcome. I think most people agree that it is now a 2 horse race.

Just doing it for comic effect so I could get a response like yours so thanks for that!! Not sure I have really complained all season about missing players. I did when we went down to Welton and I have bemoaned losing two key players in TNS and Dave Churchill. I think you take out two key players like that in any team and you'll struggle. Maybe just like BS XI did when you and Jamie C were out injured for a long period of a season.

This Saturday will indeed be very interesting. Hopefully Woodies will take something from CCs and we can manage another win against SAS.

Nice to be involved in a tight race rather than the usual relegation scrap @@
