Cup action this week with the Cup and Shield. A few tasty ties there as well.

Nailsea v Pip n Jay - it looks like this game isn't happening this weekend, not sure why as neither have a game but presumably Nailsea couldn't make this weekend.

Bristol Sanctuary XI v Widcombe Wanderers - the big one in the cup, can't see anything other than a BS XI win here although Widcombe are still the cup kings so who knows.

Christchurch v VCF Santos - repeat of last weekend's game with another win for ChCh

Counterslip v Suburbs United - difficult to see Slip losing this one but they have crumbled against Div 2 teams before (cue Rich having another opportunity to talk about it...)

Hilfields Park Baptist v Widcombe Corinthians - current shiled holders should see off Widcombe

Woodland Rangers v SAS United - tough game for us against SAS who look to have 2-3 players back compared to when we last played them. Hopefully the pitch will hold up the rain we have had and we'll have a good game.

Castle Green v Hartcliffe Saints - tricky tie for the Green Army, but they should just have enough to overcome the Saints.

Grace Church v Rock Crusaders - top of Div 3 versus lower end of Div 2 should be a good match up, I quite fancy extra time and Rock to nick it in extra time with a veteran's finish from Mr Freeman

Hayhill v Bristol Pistols - tough one to call with Hayhill going well, I'll predict Pistols to just nick it

Kensington Baptist v Thornbury Baptist - big game for the Div 2 title challengers. TBC will miss Cookie badly but have goals in the Cat Hancox and iback them to get back to winning ways.

Welton Rangers v Racing Santos - Welton have had mixed results of late but should see off Racing.

Powerhouse FC v Carmel - the only all Div 3 game will be a close affair with Powerhouse coming out on top.

Enjoy one and all.

Christchurch v VCF Santos - home win I think. Dan East hat-trick.

Counterslip v Suburbs United - no idea what to expect from Suburbs, but I'm looking at their recent 3 goal win over Welton and our 3 goal win over the same oppo in pre-season and expecting a tough game.

Hilfields Park Baptist v Widcombe Corinthians - home win.

Woodland Rangers v SAS United - home win again. Could go to extra time though.

Castle Green v Hartcliffe Saints - think this will be fairly close, but home win.

Grace Church v Rock Crusaders - another close one I think. Gonna pick an away win aet though.

Hayhill v Bristol Pistols - away win.

Kensington Baptist v Thornbury Baptist - possibly the tie of the round with both flying high in Div 2? Going for a home win.

Welton Rangers v Racing Santos - Welton to show their bouncebackability with a home win.

Powerhouse FC v Carmel - home win.

Certainly watching the battle of the Baps this weekend with interest.

I reckon that one will go all the way to penalties and then you may as well flip a coin

Pulled out of the whole cup? Or just asked to postpone the game?

Just the game Nath, I understand there is Bath Uni CU weekend away which takes up quite a few of their players.

Hillfields v Widcombe C is off to be rescheduled.

Is there another round before Christmas?

No there isn't. The QFs are on the same day as the Cup semis in Feb, and then the Shield semis are on the 5th March. Honestly Crofty, a quick look at Ben's fantastic fixtures spreadsheet would tell you that.*

How come you're rearranging? Not because of a waterlogged pitch??

*I asked Ben the same thing yesterday.

Well, nothing other than the Groundsman not letting us play on it cos we would have cut it up. Probably a good decision in light of the frosts we've had this week.
