Usain Bolt ran the fastest 100m of the season this evening in Ostrava 9.77secs. It's going to be interesting to see just how fast he can go over both 100m & 200m in the next couple of months.

It was winded assisted though, which makes all the difference. Anyone could run that time with a bit of wind behind them. Do you think he'll have a go at 400m for a bit of a laugh this season? Only BCFA team to beat BSXI 4 times since 12th December 2009.....

I maybe should have called this the Usain Bolt thread, but I heard earlier that he ran 19.59 (4th fastest ever) for the 200m in a meet in Lausanne last night. It was into a strong headwind and in cold wet conditions.

Saw a bit of it on the news this morning. He was miles clear of the rest of the field, and it did look pretty wet. Only BCFA team to beat BSXI 4 times since 12th December 2009.....

The guy is untouchable. I was watching the news last night and the news about the swimsuits that are being banned has angered me. Why don't they ban the new design of bikes which help cyclists go faster? Today's bikes are alot more up to date than bikes 10 years ago so why can't swimsuits be the same. If the swimmer is good enough then they will win and break records. Top of the league

The thing is, all swimmers in races have access to the same style of suits, so they should all be able to go faster. The whole point of racing is to go fast, it's fun and entertaining for spectators. You could say that runners should wear sandals like they used to in roman times, or motorsport should be done in mk1 ford fiestas. I'm gonna slap your bald head.

Dumb argument, swimsuits should improve, just like stuff in other sports and life in general. The only product I can think of in the World that isn't beneficial to advance in technology is Arms (cold war is prime example - imagine if it all went the other way and half the world was currently radioactive wasteland).

How has this come about, surely someone hasn't just said she looks like a man lets investigate, if she is a women how embarrasing for her to thought of as a bloke, bet fatima whitbread didn't have this problem and we all know she was a man Has seen 4 lads through his team become Christians in the last 18 months or so - How awesome is that?

Now though, she's running some pretty awesome times, so suddenly the joking about her has turned into serious rumour. Didn't watch the race last night, but saw the end on the news this morning. She won by an incredible margin for an 800m race. I heard Darren Campbell on the radio this morning though, and he was saying he'd heard something about some medical condition. It'll be interesting to see what the result of the gender test is. Can't remember this happening in my lifetime, although I think it did happen early 1900's with some bloke who raced as a woman and was found out years later if I remember rightly. I was listening to a podcast the other day and they were saying there was this guy who won the Olmpic 400m gold back in the early 1900's who turned out to be a monkey. "Ashton will never get in your boat Kirbs. He’s too much of a chirpser." Nathan Redshaw, 16/07/2009.

Yea apparently he tried to compete in Athens four years later but they found out it was a monkey and didn't allow it. "Ashton will never get in your boat Kirbs. He’s too much of a chirpser." Nathan Redshaw, 16/07/2009.
