Still not convinced I'm believing this at all. Why would Ash spend most of last season trying to lure Ieu to 'Slip with promises of showers and man-love?

Ian, that last picture disgusts me. How could Davo possibly stoop so low. I mean, disgraceful stuff, why would he stand next to Dan? Wink

In Thornburys high days - any one wanted to wear it. I am very please to be part of that DOUBLE league winning side. This year will be very different.
My new team will be in Pink.

Sit him on the bench too often and what do you expect?

Oh to have the time to sit in a pub and drink beer!

To be fair the Ashton sign-on came about to a large degree because our keeper Ali happened to bump into him and enquire as to what he was doing this season. Once it was clear he might be available I would have been a fool not to explore the possibility of bringing him on-board...

Happily he has agreed and he will be a real asset both in terms of football and character.

Looking forward to some friendlies in August and another competitive season.

You would have been a fool not to explore the possibility, much like Ashton has become a fool.
Congratulations to Woodies.

ooooooh, a bit of controversy already. I s it true or a wind up, anyhow this has been the most enetertaining piece of transfer gossip I've heard all summer (and that includes the mighty Joe Cole signing for the reds and the whole of the French national squad being suspended by their FA!!!). Looking forward to the loads of friendlies we've got coming up (although unsure how many will be able to make just yet, fatherhood, wife and work may have some say in this!)

End of the day Dan, that's his decision. It's only local football and we are free to do what we want. Sometimes we lose players we don't want to lose, sometimes we lose players who felt they weren't needed. Cuts both ways and I have experienced both.

We knew he was leaving months ago, that's not the issue.
Congratulations to Woodies.

So whats the issue?????? The fact he wants to win things?!?!?! Cant blame him there.... surely!!!!, would you have preferred he went to Woodies or Widcombe?!?!?!?!
Clearly he just wants to enjoy his football, it'll be nice to have some decent players added to the ones we have back aswell.
Get off the lads back, whats dones done, start sorting out your own signings to compete with us!!!

I never thought I would ever say this but I agree with Franco, people come and go we all have our own reasons for leaving or wanting to leave, the best thing people can do is respect there wishes. If a person is not happy at a club they should be allowed to leave if they wish to. We are all in football because it's what we love doing but if we are not enjoying it then there is no point playing.

Like I said, I have no issue with him leaving. But I'll be amazed if you can enjoy your football playing with you guys. But that's just probably me. It may suit Ashton so good luck to him. You're probably all a lovely bunch so ignore me.
Congratulations to Woodies.

Can't view it at the moment but I'm guessing from the picture that he used his standing foot to kick the ball! Genius!
Congratulations to Woodies.

I think its disgraceful that a player would leave a club just to go somewhere else where they might have a better chance of picking up silverware. Not what the league's about at all.BigGrin

Disgraceful behaviour, load of gold diggers! Just as bad as Bristolians supporting Premier League Teams.

Should be put in the stocks for 20 days and have rotten fruit and veg chucked at them! Angry
