Harcliffe Saints 2 v Hillfields 8
HT 0-3

Played new boys Hartcliffe Saints today on Astro. They were missing a few players as only had one sub but they aquited themselves well and Zoe is doing a great job I think they will be fine in Division 3.

Must say I was pleased with our football today and with a lot of new lads coming in I thought we gel'd well together. Christy (soon to be travelling the world Sad) Got us going, new lad Uygar scored and Christy added his third to put us comfotably in the lead. Hartcliffe then had a spell of pressure but new centre back paring Joe Lee and Damiene Britton kept solid.

HT 3-0

After the break Hillfields scored early and believe it or not it was me who scored (on my 31st birthday I might add Dancing ) James laid me through on the left and I curled the ball into the far corner, possibly my finest goal. Then Hartcliffe scored two set plays the first a great direct freekick effort the second a dubious penalty. Hillfields then had a shakey 5 minute spell before pushing on to score 4 more goals Dan A, Leon, Aaron and Matthew (all under 19) making the scoreline look flattering. Some great footy played and hope we can keep it up for the next 9 months.

Bad thing is that could well be my one token goal for the season out the way already. Plus I have never scored in the top division always in cups or Div 2.

Also had some bad news that Christy is leaving in September to go round the world, great for him but gutted to lose him for a season especially as he's our only striker. Crying

Has TNS left or is he injured and we need a keeper as well for a month at least as lumps got sent of v Widcombe end of last season.

Funnily enough, TNS has left in order to give Zoe and the lads in Hartcliffe a hand and some experience. Obviously, the fact that this is a brilliant thing for Tom to do that is clearly deserving of respect doesn't change the fact that he's a deserting, treacherous, nasty piece of poo.

He looked a lot more slimmer and agile on Saturday than I remember him BigGrin

I start properly in September. All matches have been while Cricket has taken place. Soon I will have them organised!
