nathan8 wrote:Hmm. I kind of agree with Dan on that one. It's a strange feeling. I actually think he's just playing some Fergie-style mind games. The BBC headline on it is spot on - "Federer piles pressure on Murray". He's sowing as many seeds of doubt in Murray's mind as he can. Why does a great player like Federer need to get into a war of words, he's obviously worried.

Yep, that's what I'd be saying and thinking if I was Murray. Only BCFA team to beat BSXI 4 times since 12th December 2009.....

I don't think arrogance is ever justified. There's a difference between confidence and arrogance. Also, name me 1 footballer who has an egaging personality to listen to when interviewed (besides Jimmy Bullard who is a "character" primarily cos he is a bit thick!)

Not looking good for Andy, I am off to church shortly but am not expecting any miracle comeback 2 sets down to Fed = gameover. Well like Liverpool there is always next year Has seen 4 lads through his team become Christians in the last 18 months or so - How awesome is that?

Thanks for coming Andy. Smith was absolutely :livid: with me at church this morning when I was pleased that Fed won. He even said he 'had no time for me' Congratulations to Woodies.

What the hell is going on with Murray. One minute he's done for and the next he's on the verge of victory. He could still lose this one yet!

But he won. I actually think it was a pretty decent victory. Gasquet has been playing well on clay, as opposed to Murray, and was in front of his home crowd. He would have been the player that all the seeds wanted to avoid in the first round. Only BCFA team to beat BSXI 4 times since 12th December 2009.....

Had Gasquet not played so much in the last few days, he would have won. Congratulations to Woodies.

But Murray beat him last year in the French Open, and in a recent clay tournament. I think it'll be an easier match than Gasquet. Only BCFA team to beat BSXI 4 times since 12th December 2009.....

He's still pretty young Ben. Plenty of time for him, and the French is his worst surface. Fed will have retired well before Murray's career is over, and he's the only person who's stopped him winning two so far. Only BCFA team to beat BSXI 4 times since 12th December 2009.....

Still it was fairly appropriate.

So Roger is out then. Big shock really, and brings to an end what I think is one of sport's most incredible runs. In the previous 23 grand slams, he has always made the semi-finals. That's almost 6 years of being involved in every semi in every grand slam (since Wimbledon 2004)!!! He hasn't even missed one at some point due to injury. I think even more remarkable is that of those 23 semis, he's only failed to make the final on 3 occasions. It now means that if Nadal wins the French Open, he'll become the new world no.1, just a week before Fed is scheduled to equal Pete Sampras' record of 286 consecutive weeks at number 1!!! Only BCFA team to beat BSXI 4 times since 12th December 2009.....

Wasn't such a big shock to me, with the form Soderling has shown so far I was very hopeful that he would knock Fed out. Don't forget he beat Nadal last year.

All credit to Istner and Mahut, currently at 56-56 in the final set. It is the longest match in history. Crazier still the final set alone is longer than the previous longest match. I am amazed they can still stand let alone still fire those aces down, almost 200 between them I believe!
