I still think Logan is going down as obviously Jack used him for more info and God help the russian president.

Will be interesting to see how the reporter story works out, got a feeling Chloe may help her.

Should be a fun final 2 episodes - I am not convinced Jack will die as they seem to be lining him up to Die with all these comments and 24 are not always obvious, I still think it will end in a 24 style way so they can go into a film and finish it off.
Has seen 4 lads through his team become Christians in the last 18 months or so - How awesome is that?

However, he has already been stabbed and made a full recovery earlier in the series! But I think he is a dead man walking now - should be a good ending

Finally caught up with the 2 episodes i missed while on my hols, what a couple of episodes. Jack doing a very good impression of being Batman in that last episode. What a rampage!! He has clearly lost the plot. But just when I thought he had gone all soft on us by saving Logan we see that he used him to get more info and now will be gunning for the Russian president.

Is it a double bill this weekend to end the series then?

It is Eakes. Just as I'm moving house and will be without Sky One for about 4 days. D'oh!!! Do we know for sure that he knows about the Russian President? We don't really know what happened in that Russian dude's room, but it sounded like he just went in there shooting people and not asking any questions??

Baldy, only just seen your post. Good point!! He's been stabbed twice in the day, hasn't slept or rested at all, but is still running around!!! Pretty ridiculous, but blinking good entertainment. Smile

Nath, we know Jack knows about the Russian president as he had bugged Logan and it showed right at the end that he was listening to the call Logan made to the Russian president. Come on, keep up Wink

You can always come to my place Sunday night for the finale.

Oh yeah, forgot that. Good point.

Thanks for the offer, but I'd need a babysitter as Emily watches too. Sky is being installed on Tuesday, so I figure I'll record a repeat later in the week.

I bet you find out what has happened before you get to watch. You are bound to accidently hear or read something. You won't hear it from me though. Unless you stupidly read this thread.BigGrin

Are you sure you're not tempted to finally get your revenge for the first series? It'd be fitting considering it's now the last series. Wink

Well, its finally over, 24 is no more. Bit of a soppy ending but given it's an American show that's hardly surprising. Quite a predictable ending in many ways but a decent series. Better than the last series, but not as good as some of the earlier ones. Logan killing that guy at the end was a bit of an over-reaction, he would have done anything Logan said so why bump him off?

Loved the last 2 shows, but preferred last week's rampage. Would have been good to see Jack escape the country just to make sure he's ok.

Thought it was indeed odd that Logan killed that guy. Maybe he didn't consider shooting himself until he heard the knocking at the door, after he'd shot that guy. He could have thought he'd wor,m his way out of it. As a text from Banjiman went, he couldn't even kill himself properly, what a dumbass.

The only thing left to watch is Top Gear starting in a couple of weeks. Anyone else got any suggestions? A mate recommended The Wire.

Woah, what an emotional ending Crying, actually close to tears.

Thought it was a brilliant ending tbh, glad he didn't die but couldn't believe it when Chloe shot him! And in the real world, those guys that ambushed the ambulance would so have have just shot him in the head as he lay on the ground, why bother taking him somewhere else?!

Leaves it open for a film, how he'll manage I'm not sure...he's got a stab and a shot wound and his clothes are a wreck!

Loved the way the clock finished aswell.
Congratulations to Woodies.

Agree with this, think it was a good ending and a good bit of redemption for the president. I think that he had to live if they are capping it with a film but I think he could well die in that one.

Only thing I struggled with in this season, is Jack was pretty much killing and tourturing in cold blooded revenge as where he never did that in 7 other seasons (despite having good reasons, Nina, Logan) he always did the right things (like not assassinating the russian president) and when he was in trouble at the end, he was actually half innocent but just setup for the fall, this time he is actually unable to get out of this one as he did it all himself (not for the good of the US) so in a tiny way it makes Jacks, disturbing moral conscience that has stood for 7 seasons and makes him the man we all love and think really should be president lose a bit of it's gloss.

Did anyone think when Logan and his stouge drank the Whisky that it was poisioned?
And anyone notice the ER guy acting as UN chief?

Top Gear is only on for about 12 weeks of the year. So you had better find something quick or you'll have to watch all of Chloes girly programmes.
I am currently watching Flashforward and may also watch V.

Flashforward finished last Monday so how far are you behind? It finishes really well but there's no second series, really annoying! Are you enjoying watching Penny and Charlie?

Ha ha yes I am enjoying watching Penny & Charlie. I have only watched 7 episodes so far.

Back to 24. Do you remember the character Ira Gaines? I read somewhere that the actor who played him was the person who discharged the weapon that killed Brandon Lee during filming for The Crow. He was apparantly so devestated by what had happened that he had to take a year off. Live amunition was accidently left in the gun by a crew member when it should have been filled with blanks.

Finally watched the last episodes last night!!! My thoughts.......

Although the President did the right thing in the end, I'm disappointed with the way they took her. Threatening to bomb the IRK if they didn't sign the peace treaty was not an act of the President that we've known over the last couple of series. I think her character changed too much for my liking.

With Logan shooting Jason, he said earlier that if he was going down, Jason was going down too. Maybe he shot him to make sure that happened??

Agree with Dan that in the real world, those guys would just have shot Jack there and then. Not worth taking him anywhere else to do it. I thought he was a goner then. It's also pretty unrealistic that he was up and about fighting that guy so soon after being shot (good shot Chloe). Having been stabbed twice and shot once during the day, it's a miracle he's still living, and nigh on impossible that he was able to walk off at the end.

But overall, I enjoyed this series more than the last couple I think. Some excellent bits in it like the batman bit, and the axe in the first episode. Sorry to see 24 go. The first 4-5 series were some of the best TV I've ever seen, and I've not met a person who hasn't started watching one of those series and has not been hooked within a couple of episodes.
