Just to say that we have the pitches and the date of 25th July for the Hillfields building fund raiser tournament, all profit will go towards the building.

The plan for entry cost will be minimum £10 per player but I want this to be treated as a sponsorship cost as I don’t expect a player to fork out a tenner from their own pocket and I am sure everyone is capable of scrounging a tenner off of someone towards a good cause. Of course if you can and are capable of raising more then great! I am thinking an award to the team/player who raise the most money. Prob Max of 9 players per team?

There will be trophies/awards to the winners and as I don’t know numbers yet I am undecided on format but, if we can get 16 teams I will do 4 leagues of 4 and top two from each division will go for the Cup and bottom two the shield, we have three pitches so getting games played should be possible. I am looking for refs so any volunteers please let me know, Dan if you want to do it I can adjust your games around you playing but no pressure if you just wanna enjoy the day.

I am hoping to try and get Music a BBQ, I think someone at Sanctuary has a speed test of some sort, I am thinking a beat the keeper pen shootout comp (Lumps you wanna do this).

Another thought was to maybe do a mini youth tournament we don’t have a team but wasn’t sure if you guys had a youth team you’d like to enter, we need 4 for this to work maybe do it during an interval (under 15’s).

I want it to be more than just a tournament I want it to be a mini festival which if successful we can try and keep running for the BCFA in future years and perhaps alter the fundraising cause each time???

I am going to get entry forms and sponsor forms written up todayish so please let me know if you’re interested in entering a team and I’ll e-mail them out.

Also Si B do you know how insurance works on these things is it covered under our GFA affiliation or do I need separate cover?

Hi All

So far we have 9 teams entered for the tournament, with some more possibilities. I would like to get 16 teams entered to make more of a day of it as well as make it easier to organise the fixtures. If you are already entered but feel you can enter a second team please let me know, if you have not entered please can you let me know ASAP if you can.

The teams entered so far are:

Hillfields Bap A

Hillfields Bap B

Welton

Christchurch

Amesbury A

Amesbury B

Headly Park

Gordano

VCF Santos

Possibles are:

Nailsea

Racing Santos

Hillfields OB

Counterslip A

Counterslip B

Widcombe C

Stapleton

O’Sullivan Utd

If all the possible enter then I have enough to run a decent tournament and raise a good amount.

Also I have noticed that I have not put an address on the forms to send the deposit, please can you send this to me at 80 Hayward Road, Bristol, BS16 4PA, let me know if you have already sent a cheque as I will have to locate it as the church cannot receive post due to the dangers of having a post box.

I have reattached the forms for your information. I have also managed to revamp the building website www.hillfieldsparkcentre.co.uk it’s still needs more work doing on it but holds much more information now.

The church have pretty much filled in the roles needed to make it a great day however I am really struggling for referees, I need about 4 for the day however at the moment I have none, if your a manager but not entering a team are you able to ref for the day?

Thank you for supporting this project and I look forward to seeing you there on 25th July.

Hi guys had a really good day today God really blessed us with the weather I am really burnt.

Hillfields A won the Cup on pens v Bristol 5 and Welton the Shield again on pens against Christchurch.

Thanks to everyone who supported the day and thanks for refing a few games Si.

Overall the day brought in Almost £1,400. However their are costs to offset from this which i'll need to work out, however that is an awesome total and really grateful to everyone who help raised the money.

I hope those involved enjoyed it and perhaps we can make it annual thing but hopefully this time with bigger goals :)

There were two non Christian teams who represented 5 of the sides and it sounds like the example of the Chrurches league team really rubbed off on them and they are really interested in being involved next year which is a massive plus for me.

Thanks agains

Cheers Rich
