So, a couple of episodes on now, and I think I'm still enjoying the series, although there's a couple of flaws. First Jack gets stabbed by Renee, but a couple of scenes and a few bandages later, he appears to be fine. Not sure how realistic that is. Also thought it was a bit weird last night that Jack got electrocuted loads, and then when he turned the tables on the baddie, he knocked him out cold from a few seconds of electrocution.

Anyway, vintage Jack escaping from there and capturing the Ukrainian dude. I liked the twist at the end with the other son nicking the rods.

Maybe Jack has absorbed the cheerleader from Heroes's healing power?

Not overly surprised the other son pinched the rods - he's bitter cos daddy shot his brother.

Re the flaw about the wound, did you also notice how when Jack was being tortured how the wound was open as the baddie stuck his fingers into it? Surely the wound would therefore continue to bleed as it wasn't sewn up? Therefore jack would have lost too much blood. But then again, he's Jack Bauer, nuff said.

Yeah we questioned the bit about the guy getting ko'd after a few secs - but we came to this conclusion: he's no Jack Bauer.

Also, why is it now looking like Dana is gonna kill Kevin?? She was going to tell Ortiz everything about her past so why not just grass them up? Suppose she'd go to jail aswell then for accomplice to murder. But if she does kill them, what is she gonna tell Ortiz about her past? Just make something up?

One more thing...last week during the robbery for the drug money, they didn't wear anything to conceal their identity which I thought was a bit stupid.

Dan, yeah but presumably Dana would wipe all the CCTV footage so it would be irrelevant whether they concealed themselves. But you are right though, its a pretty strange sort of storyline. I do wonder where its going to go, will it link up with the main ongoing story perhaps, Dana not doing her job maybe or something slipping that she should have spotted maybe.

Ok, didn't like some things that happened in last nights episode.

i) Farad is such a wimp. He could hear the sirens and Hastings told him to stay where he was but he still ran. And got shot. Dumba$$.
ii) The suicide bomber. Walks into Farads room but takes his time to shut the door, block it with a chair and then trys to detonate giving CTU a few extra seconds to disarm it. As soon as he saw Farad, why did he not just detonate?
iii) The suicide bomber getting away. Jack bursts in, can see that he's got no bullets left, but instead of going straight up and cuffing him/punch him/ force him to the floor, he decides to have a little chat like he would if he were still armed. This gives the bomber a chance to jump out of the window.
iv) The guy shut in the boot. Tells the president he overheard the conversation and he was sure he was talking to his daughter, but he didn't hear that they were meeting at the hotel?

Too many flaws in last nights episode for my liking.

I did however like the originality of a suicide bomber, not sure we've had one of those before.

Dan, agree with you with most of that, the suicide bomber taking his time was a bit strange. I was wondering whether he was going to check his hair as well just to make sure. However, I must confess to not really being "up" on the usual preparation of a suicide bomber but maybe thats just me.

What about the CTU people burying the two low lifes in a lake that was about as deep as my bath? As if that will be the end of it.....

Yep. Class A wally.

I was thinking the same initially. However, thinking about it, blowing yourself up is a pretty big thing. Maybe he just wanted a few moments to psych himself up without being interrupted?

Surely that's exactly what Jack was thinking not running straight over to him? He was out of bullets, nowhere to run. He either got arrested or threw himself out the window. Jack was trying to ensure that didn't happen?

I wondered about this. Did he mention the name of the hotel? If not, then that would make it harder to find them, but even so, you'd think he'd mention that they were meeting in a hotel somewhere for a shag. I've never been shut in a car boot before I admit, but imagining myself just sat in a car, I'm not sure I'd hear someone's conversation outside the car??

Yep, agree on that too.

Don't buy your first comment at all.

Jack has never approached a suspect like that unless he was armed, he's always ko'd them!

And you can hear people talking outside a car! You are deaf don't forget Wink

24 again disappointed me last night. As soon as the episode started, Marcos was seen tampering with his explosive vest and there was a diagram on the chamber wall of how to arm the vest.

At the end of the last episode, he entered the chamber, spoke to his boss and his boss said he would tell him how to maually arm the vest. Jack then came onto the intercom and Marcos smashed the controls which blacked out the picture. It then went to the ticking clock.

So within about 5 seconds, Marcos has got back on the phone with his boss and managed to draw quite a complex diagram on the wall from his boss' instructions Not talking

IMO really bad from the writers of 24, the whole basis of the programme is that it's based in real time. Not happy.

Other than that, it was a good episode. Loved the blood splatter, quite comical.

Didn't really pick up on the timing issues of that so it didn't really bother me that much. Good skills from Jack convincing him he would harm his Mum. I even believed he would !!

The Dana story is starting to annoy me though. Why would she agree to the prison officer seeing her straight away and why continue to answer her phone???

The timing of the show is a major issue, especially when it's that obvious!

And I agree about the Dana story.

Yeah but the timings of some things on the show have often been quite comical. Adds an endearing factor Wink

Dan, the show is circa 45 minutes, so it cannot be real-time. Hence there's often those intermissions where the clock comes up and moves on a few minutes. Same thing for the start of the show. It would have been a bit wierd starting the clock from the hour, moving it on a few minutes (for the diagram to be drawn), then starting it. Missing a few minutes of time at the start of a show is fine imo.

Dana storyline is bunk. I doubt the parole officer is who he says he is. I reckon he looks like the father of her dead stalker, who got word from the stalker that he made some money, and now the dad wants in on it. He'll then capture Dana. Hopefully she'll then be shot from close range to the face with an RPG.

Loving the blood splatter too Dan. Kinda hoped to see some entrails or something though.

Yeah there are minutes missed when the adverts come on but they progress the story in line with that. I.e if Jack is leaving somewhere and has just got in the car when the adverts come on, by the time 24 comes back on he's not just starting the engine, he's already a few minutes into his journey. All they needed to do last night was have Marcos on phone to his boss and starting the diagram, cut to another scene for a few minutes and then go back to Marcos having completed the diagram. All it would have meant was him taking a few minutes less to arm the vest.

It was very poor for a show that is based on real time.

I'm with Dan on the diagram. As soon as I saw it, I thought "When did he draw that up?" Lucky he had a marker pen on him too....

Other than, that good episode apart from the already-mentioned stupid Dana storyline. Why would she agree to meet a parole officer at 2.30am in the morning when they've got a major crisis on? She'd tell him to get stuffed and wait until she'd finished her work. And do parole officers really follow people up with such vigour?

Do parole officers work at 2:30am. Seems weird, I agree, the parole dude is more than he says he is.

The Dana story is rubbish they wanted a side story as they usually do but this one is pants, also don't like the fact that freddie Prince Jnr, went from being a junior Jack Bauer (willing to take a bullet or blow up) to then just murdering some goons. Shame as I can only see this story line reaching a bad conclusion for Dana (who cares) and FPj.

Does anyone think that the dude who has the presidents daughter might not be a dodgy as is being made out?

My final point, 24 is like a day, the hours obviously vary, so when there is a terriost threat to the world leaders, why are they trying to have the meeting hours later, why not just say lets do it tomorrow Think I know it isn't great TV but I would see this as a bit more realistic. In real life how many presidents of the far east, would just avoid assassination and then be in getting ready to meet up again a few hours later??

Liked the suicide bomer bit, good pebble dashing of the chamber. Was the mum Martys mum from Back to the future.
Has seen 4 lads through his team become Christians in the last 18 months or so - How awesome is that?
