He's not playing as much as he'd like at the mo, what with dodgy knees and archilles etc etc but Big John from Santos has managed to come up with a little Babber! Edward Blackmore was born earlier today and is doing jolly well, as is his Mum. Not sure about Dad but have a beer waiting for him!

Anyway, big congratulations John!

Yeah I was gonna ask if anyone knew if Ben's wife had given birth yet.

Congrats Big John!! Is that one of those ironic nicknames and he's actually really small (like Little John in Robin Hood is really big)?

Woohoo!

Nice one Big John! Congratulations to you and the lovely Mrs Big John!

(Nath, Big John is named so because he has substantial height and stature...)

We had another girl two week's ago today. Just getting to the end of my paternity leave now and looking forward to going back to work on Monday for a brief visit before a few more days off!

Congratulations Ben. Name and weight? (I'm not actually that interested in her weight, but it seems to be the done thing to ask as far as I can make out).

Keeping up the Eastern European theme we've called hir Lilia. Weight was 3.60 kg (or 7lb 15 for any "evergreen" players out there). I can personally vouch that that's not that heavy as I had to deliver her myself when we didn't make it to the hospital on time. Crying Mother and baby all seem to be fine though.

Wow!! Good effort Ben!! 7lb15 would have been considered a decent weight back when I was born (think I was a bit lighter than that), but these days, it's probably slightly on the light side of average.

I like the name.

I disagree. That's basically 8lbs and i'd sat that was a perfect weight ad prob just above average. Get some stats!
Congratulations to Woodies.

The only stats I have are from the few babies that I know have been born in recent months, most of which seem to be over 8lb. It's admittedly a small sample size. Just googled it, and it looks like 7.5lb (7lb 8oz) is considered about average.

Flynn's Dad told me that Dan was 7 pounds and when he asked for a refund, the hospital refused ;;
