I'd like to start this post with the opinion that the new message board does look very nice and clearly has more functionality, technically speaking, than the old runboard.

Given the abundance of time on my hands, i did 5 minutes investigating and can therefore spout my spleen on the shoulders of some cast iron facts.

In seasons 06/07 07/08 and 08/09, based on 10 months (August to end of May) of regular postings, we averaged over 2000 posts a month - 2164 last year.
This season, we're only up to 2090 posts (this morning) after a bit more than 3 months at a miserly 600 per month.

I'm not advocating a return to runboard - the managers' and referees' sections are clearly useful - but I reckon all the other areas should be lumped in together like it was before so we can all air our ill-informed and bombastic opinions with greater ease.

Anyway, fully agree with your proposal. Would be the best way of rekindling the community feel of the old board.

Ieu, have you seen The Wire? Apparently it's kind of a Sopranos style drama series that's very good.

Or maybe he's not seen the Soprano's? But you're probably right.
