Soooo, Phil C is still on for Player of the Season according to Webteams unless someone gets in his way. "Ashton will never get in your boat Kirbs. He’s too much of a chirpser." Nathan Redshaw, 16/07/2009.

Kirby, there is a recurring theme for when you get taken off.... Maybe someone is underestimating your contribution to the team. Can't believe we didn't win on Sat. Sorry for wasting chances boys and wasting potential fantasy points. Next week will be our week :) "Ashton will never get in your boat Kirbs. He’s too much of a chirpser." Nathan Redshaw, 16/07/2009.

I have to say, during "pre-season" i was abit dubious having kirby at right back this year, but to be fair to him, he's been really good, been doing the basics right which is all we want from our full backs, plus after saturdays shooting display, a stint for kirbdawg up front should not ruled out ...id completely buzz to it! www.webteams.co.uk/counterslip...our biggest fear is not that we are inadequate, our biggest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

My shooting in 6-a-side with work has actually been pretty damn good. That is on smooth astro though and not bobbly pitches we normally play on. Asho - be confident! We know as well as you do that you're capable of fantastic goals. Just get your composure and be confident.

Kirby has for the last two or three seasons been a solid, dependable performer. He doesn't stand out hugely in the team, but he does his defensive job, and it's actually pretty rare to look back at a game and think that he didn't win his personal battle with the oppos left mid. Anyway, I'm actually thoroughly enjoying the way we've been playing the last few weeks. I would actually say I enjoyed the SAS and TBC games more than I enjoyed the Pip n Jay game, when although we won, I didn't think we played very well. Ashton and Tim are getting better and better at linking up. I honestly believe Spring is improving in his holding role. Just to clarify for everyone else, I still want him to get forward in that role as he adds a lot going forwards. His mantra for this season though is "forward with the play, not ahead of it". I think we're playing good football, and looking fairly solid at the back (annoyingly conceded late goals against Pip n Jay and TBC). We're creating plenty of chances, we're just not finishing as well as we'd like. I think we should take on Gary Lineker's philosophy - get it on target so you at least force the keeper to make a save. There will be some shooting practice at training tonight. If Kirby shows some potential..... Only BCFA team to beat BSXI 4 times since 12th December 2009.....

To be fair to JK when he came up against Andy B once or twice last season he did pretty well. He is about as good a winger as any full back will come up against in this league (albeit maybe 1-2 years past his prime ). We'll gloss over the bit in the GFA cup when he actually passed to AB and put him in on goal (which he didn't score).

It was only because AB had asked to join the Slip the week before when he turned up to training with Ieu, which made me think for a split second he was on our side. places still open to both of you AB and Ieu

Yes well done Kirby, I also agree that you should be rewarded with a start up front. JK2 v AC9 "Ashton will never get in your boat Kirbs. He’s too much of a chirpser." Nathan Redshaw, 16/07/2009.

JK2 v AC9 I couldn't play up front on my own - haven't got the pace so I'd be as effective as Turpin would be. Although Turpin's obviosuly taller than me so could take a Crouch role and supply the partner stiker. I think what would work well would be you to get the ball from midfield past the defence, then pass to me to barge any remaining defenders and the GK out the way, then run the ball into the net. wysat? Killer combo mate.

We've played 7 games and I've played 2 in goal and 1 as referee. I'm also playing in goal on saturday So that's 8 games and I've only played half out on pitch. And none in my favoured position Congratulations to Woodies.
