Castle Green p-p VCF Santos Game off, frozen pitch. Frustrating as we now move to next Sat with more league fixtures being moved and more disruption for both clubs. Ian, was it a morning or afternoon kick-off. If an afternoon kick-off then how can the groundsman/ref be so certain that it will not be OK?

We all agreed a morning kick off. Several factors. Packers wasn't available for a 1.30pm, Santos' pitch was still out of action due to building work on the changing rooms and then we were having this remarkably mild winter with no indication of a freeze! Typical, but hindsight is a wonderful thing. It is doubtful the pitch would have thawed by 1.30pm anyway. You couldn't get a key into the ground in the middle of the pitch or goal mouths and the temp was not due to rise with any significance. I would say Packers is very much in doubt for this afternoon. Can see me calling off my afternoon game. Not much warmer out there! Plus it's on the top of Dundry! It's freezing at that altitude! Congratulations to Woodies.

Just been to bishopsworth to try and see our gfa semi final oppo and the pitches there very soft and playable. Unfortunately they had switched the fixture. Not a successful days footy. Let's hope brighton stuff city this arvo to salvage something!

Waited and waited for the sun to do its stuff, but it didn't, so it got called off.

I was out walking at around 11 ish and it looked like the grass was thawing by then but I can't see that BAWA would have been playable by 11. A real shame that no games could go ahead on Saturday.

Yeah we waited until about 10:30. I reckon by 11ish we would've been ok and my boys seemed up for it but understandably their lads didn't feel it would be playable by then which is fair enough so decided to postpone.

we kicked off at about 10.15, and it had only properly thawed by 11ish. Still playable though at kick off as the grass was quite long which helped. Obviously hadnt posted before now Si as I hadnt scored
