It lashed down in Saltford last night, less than 10 miles as the crow files from Welton. If it the game out in the sticks is on, I can predicte it will be muddy. Forecast for Thursday night/Friday morning looks horrid.

Hopefully will see you Saturday.

Not looking good, Hillfields are already saying their pitch is a doubt and I can't see our groundsman letting us play at our place this weekend - it was looking very tired and heavy after we played on it on Saturday. Still, we've had a good run so far this season. Here's hoping though for Saturday....

cant complain to much not going to be a huge back log of fixtures this season touch wood

I reckon that given you can usually play every Saturday in March and April (again, touch wood), we only need to play 2 league games plus our BCFA Cup semi in the whole of Jan and Feb to be able to complete the season without any midweek games. If we lose our cup semi, we'd only need to play one league game in those two months.

Have just been informed by a Lady that works with me and lives in Peasedown, 4 miles from Welton, that her Husband has informed her that following torrential rain an hour ago, that snow has now fallen, and he struggled to get his car up Radstock hill. Looking even more dodgy for Saturday.

Can we get hold of 4 helicopters to dry the pitch out?

Sad thing is, one of our lads asked me on Sat if I could remember lace up footballs...I couldn't lie, I remember vividly trying not to head the ball and catch the laces! Oh the joy of those new fangled "plastic coated" leather balls being invented! Good old Mitre!! Changed the game without doubt.

Selfishly, I'd quite like all games to be called off until about mid-January.

Looking very very dodgy for tomorrow. Boo hoo! Following overnight rain heavy sleet and snow was falling in Saltford at 6.10 when I left home, and someone who has just come in from 4 miles from Welton said snow was on the ground. Am expecting a call from Lenny in due course, to say don't bother packing the kit.
