Woodies 5 Clifton st vincents 0 in the gfa minor. Played on a massive pitch we could have got double figures today and played some great football but they were pretty poor. Why their league is in the minor cup I don't know, I reckon most 3rd div sides I. The bcfa would have beaten this lot.

SAS 3 - 2 Greens Park
Goals from Dorney, Brady & M Cawley
Scoreline went 1-0 SAS, 2-1 Green Park, 3-2 SAS Cawley winner came in injury time Dreadful pitch, convinced we'd have cruised it if we were at home!

BUCU 1 - 3 Pip n Jay (cup prelim)
Our (bucu) first game of the season and probably one of the toughest we'll have to play. After a tight opening spell Pip n Jay made their experience show and were 2 -0 in front by the break. We got a late consolation goal from a set piece headed in by Jack.
A disappointing result for us but we played some good football at times and showed signs that we can carry on where we left off last season.
Best of luck to Pip n Jay in the cup.

Thornbury Baptist Church 3 Real Thornbury 6
Beaten by the better side, watch Real as they are a quality side and have won Division 7 and 6 of the District league in the last two seasons. Goals from Cat Hancox, James Cooke and Joe Maiden. I predict Real to go a long way in this competition. No complaints today.

Bailey Sports 2-3 Castle Green Awesome performance and heroics beyond belief. Let's just put this result into perspective. This time last season, this side were Hambrook FC's reserve side who won promotion in the District and were playing 2 GFA cup competitions higher than today and they featured a number of ex Hambrook 1st teamers. Today our lads stood up to everything thrown at them, everything that is good about the game in the shape of some very cultured football, to everything bad about the game...I probably don't need to go into detail. From a footballing point of view, Bailey Sports are far too good to be playing in the Bristol and Avon League. I try not to crow about Castle Green performances on here, but today 11 heroes took to the pitch and withstood an unbelievable test as footballers and as men and I hope they have all gone home very proud because they should be. One thing I know for certain is that they have gone home grateful that they play in the BCFA! We conceded first, Dan Powell got us back in the game quickly after. They tucked away a penalty, Nick Gilleece also then buried a penalty. 2-2. Not long before half time, Dan Powell scored again from the spot. 2-3 at half time and no further goals in the second half. Ok we rode our luck a bit, but we'll take that result. Big thanks to a couple of good friends who have given me the heads up to pass on to the lads over the last week or so. It's fantastic having friends like this in local football. Nice to be in the hat for the next round! GFA Minor Hillfields 3 v Crosscourt 1 I missed first two goals but we went 1-0 up they equalised, then they came at us for about 20mins but Hillfields weathered that and then, took the attack to them and scored a second before halftime, second half Hillfields were comofortable and had chances to finish but could quite do it then Manager Joe scored the third to end the game and win Hillfields first ever GFA cup game :-) Also Hillfields first win in all competitions since league started (yes thats both teams) GFA Primary Santos 4 v Hillfields Res 1 We started better but some poor defending at a freekick saw Santos take the lead, we kept going and got deserved equaliser from a corner through Nathan 3 in 4 for him. Then Santos took more possession and started to dominate us but we held out but 3 late goals in the first half, a great header from a cross put them back in the lead. A good freekick from Ewan and a slip from the keeper through his legs put a bit of a flattering scoreline for them at Half time. Second half we got more organised and defended well to keep the score the same. Was really encouraging performance from our lads and will give us a lot of heart for the league season, hoping we can get that first win soon. Has seen 4 lads through his team become Christians in the last 18 months or so - How awesome is that?

Welton 2-5 Nailsea C.Maidment and Me goalscorers. We were poor Nailsea deserved 3 points. Going to be a long hard season, definitely looking at a relegation scrap. Your right Chris! The only time you run out of chances is when you stop taking them.
