CC 1 BSX1 4. A highly competitive encounter and CC's could easily have been 3-1 up at half-time with Bakker a constant menace. A brilliant control and volley from Wellsy was the turning point and with the squad at full stretch an immensely valuable 3 pts. Long way to go though.... gaffer

After last season I am very much looking forward to posting this result:
VCF Santos 8 - 1 Hillfields
Our pre-season training and friendlies is paying off, 5-0 at half time, a soft penalty for their 1. Very pleased with the result. We didn't have our strongest side out but we still managed dominate with some lovely passing moves and all that stuff.
Nice

Oasis Cairns Road 0-3 Castle Green Competitive game this morning against a decent OCR side. Goals from Dan Powell 2 and Damien Wignall. Only downside was a OCR player being injured and a challenge and being taken to hospital. We hope to get some positive news later and wish their lad well. Welton Rangers 6 v 3 Hartcliffe Saints Craig Maidment 3 Adam Simmonds 2 Andy Coombs
A comfortable win for us today, but against a Hartcliffe side which should be very competitive within the Third Division, I would think.
We went 1-0 down within a couple of minutes, but then got into gear and played some wonderful football to find ourselves leading 5-1 after half an hour with our forward players, Maidment especially, in deadly form. The pick of those goals being an immaculate chip from Coombs from about 35 yards, but Hartcliffe were a constant breaking threat to us, with a number of quick, skillful players.
Then a Hartcliffe player was sent off. A very late challenge on Simmonds was punished with a yellow card and then the subsequent reaction from the player was given a straight red! Thought the situation was handled very well by Mr Day, when something could have boiled over. Fair play to the Harts player though, who apologised after the game and was very reasonable. Clearly very out of character.
Second half, the game petered out a bit. We continued to play good, measured football (though with a tendency to try one pass/flick too many occasionally) and Hartcliffe continued to look very dangerous on the counter attack, as was rewarded when I messed up a defensive header and their number 14 picked up his hat-trick.
Nice to get a victory under our collective belt, and all the best to Hartcliffe in the shield (I'm sure we'll see you there after the next round of the cup! ;) )

Ok, one for all you expert Twits out there. Why is it that when I do a search for #bcfaresults, other peoples results are shown but not mine even though I did post it, 3 times over and they all appear on the home page? Is it something to do with the account settings or is that just the way it is? Woodies 4 Bristol Pistols 3 in a friendly last night. Ended up with a squad of 17 so not ideal when you have rolling subs to sub off half the team. A good run out which is the idea of these games. Pistols scored a couple of cracking goals by their young guy up front and we scored the goal of the game near the end with some lovely flowing football.

Dont think its been mentioned yet Hillfields 2-1 powerhouse. Martins boys will be strong this year they have to be in the promotion race at the least I think. Good end to a funy pre-season for hillfields. Is starting to feel alittle old now
