Pretty sure Ben said in his email to managers that he was intending to release them by the 17th July, provided everyone had got back to him about unavailable dates etc.
Only BCFA team to beat BSXI 4 times since 12th December 2009.....

Who are you playing for next season Davo?

Have deliberately been avoiding answering this question, as I have grave concerns that my phone has been hacked by some unscrupulous BCFA managers (DON'T BOTHER. BAYNTON DOESN'T SPEAK TO ME ON THE PHONE) but figure I may as well confirm my return to Santos. Just to avoid unpleasant rumours, I would like to state that I am NOT making the move for any of the following reasons:
- Because there are too many strikers at Woodies who are younger (except Andy), fitter and better than me.
- Because I find the notion of playing alongside someone who isn't far off half my age disturbing (Ben Mitch).
- Because I'm a Hayden-esque flat track bully and am hoping to score more goals in a lower division.
- Because I spent the afternoon in the pub with Jonny some weeks ago and he bought me beer. BEER!
- Because I have always secretly loved Gaffer and he's married now.
- Because I'm getting older, don't like exercise and so need as many opportunties to play as I can get.
- Because it only takes me 5 minutes to walk to training.

Basically, I decided to return to my spirtual BCFA home in the same way that Craig Bellamy decided to return to Cardiff but in a much, much less 'Welsh' way and with a slightly smaller renumeration package (I estimate I'll save about £5 per season not having to cross the bridge, £10 on petrol because the home ground is much nearer and £75 on subs because my new Gaffer isn't an accountant - a tidy sum when you add it all up).

Harsh. Very harsh. Me and Mcgrath have made a fair contribution to the upkeep of the venerable structure over the past couple of years. And I think we're all pretty aware that the accountant in you divides the cost of crossing by the number of people in your car and adds it on to the relevant player's accounts at the end of the season.

My name is Gary Mitchell and I am Chairman of Lockleaze and Horfield Community Fc U16s. As this is our last season competing in The Avon Youth League we are looking for a team who would like to play our boys in a Charity Friendly at our ground on August 28th which is a Sunday and it would be played in the afternoon.Players would be charged £5.00 each with ALL proceeds going to The Jessie May Trust.
The Jessie May Trust's mission is to work in partnership with families and other agencies to deliver & develop quality respite and palliative care services in the home for all children and young people with life limiting conditions and their families who choose them and who live in our geographical area.
This would be a test for our youngsters and being played for a fantastic cause.
This would probably suite a team in your Division 3.
You can contact me on 07504441552.
Thank You.

Sounds like a good idea, but correct me if I am wrong won't all of the players have to be 16 to compete against a team of men?

The Football Association regulations state that a player can play open age football on attaining their 16th Birthday, however there maybe some leeway in respect of Charity games but have not been able to see anything in the Regs.

The BCFA goes further and requires age 16 and to have completed compulsory education.

I personally go further and will only register a play who is under 18, provided they are built for adult football. I take the opinion that I have duty of care and I don't want the liability of a minor getting injured by an adult. It's just not worth it.

That seems a little odd.
By seventeen you can start a family, pilot a plane, join the armed forces, give blood, buy a house...but don't think for one minute you're playing in the BCFA with those skinny ankles, boy! ;)

It is difficult for the youngsters having to come up against these ugly monstrous centre-backs, with their long, ogre-ish hair, their deafening shouting and their desire to kick you ten feet up in the air because they can't keep up with you. *Casts mind back to first time played against Ian Chappel about 16 years ago.*
